The actor, who appeared at the Cherokee County Superior Court in Georgia, waived his right to formal arraignment, entered a plea of not guilty, and requested a trial by jury, according to documents submitted by his attorney.

A spokesperson for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office revealed late last year that Sligh was arrested in October after the child's parents reported the alleged crime. He was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center and released the day of his arrest after posting a $22,000 bond, according to jail records.

Police documents show that Sligh's alleged victim is a girl he knew who was under the age of ten at the time of the reported molestation.

In 2014, Sligh made news after being hit by a car and then attacked by two men on Thanksgiving.
