Spoiler Alert: Y&R star Miles Gaston Villanueva's Jane the Virgin role has HUGE impact on series; Y&R alum Eva Longoria also in the mix

The Young and the Restless' Miles Gaston Villanueva (Luca Santori) is about to throw a huge wrench into Jane the Virgin plotlines, meaning this ain't no ordinary guest starring role. And Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella Braa) is also on board.

The Young and the Restless is rumored to be losing star Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) to primetime's This Is Us, and it's possible the daytime series will be losing Miles Gaston Villanueva (Luca Santori) to primetime, as well.

The daytime newbie announced that he'll be appearing on Jane the Virgin this October, but new details have surfaced, and it looks like his role is way more important than most fans initially thought.

TV Line

reports that Villanueva has been cast as Sam, an old crush of Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) that she knew long before she met her current love, Michael, and the other man that vies for her heart, baby daddy Rafael. And it sounds like the addition of Sam will create a love quadrangle that may give soap operas a run for their money.

"Intellectual and sexy, Sam's past connection to Jane has a surprising impact on the present," the site teases.

Meanwhile, TV Line also reports that Y&R alum Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella Braa) is headed to Jane the Virgin for season three, as well. She and Villanueva won't be sharing any screen time, however, because the former Desperate Housewives star is visiting the CW series in a different capacity: as director of episode three.

Watch for Jane the Virgin's return on Monday, October 17, at 9/8C on The CW.
