Tristan Rogers returns to Y&R, enthuses:  Colin is back to being Colin

Tristan Rogers' Colin is returning to The Young and the Restless for a storyline that proves you just can't teach an old dog new tricks.

British soap opera producer Mal Young just took over the helm at The Young and the Restless, and one major difference fans will soon notice is Tristan Rogers' Colin Atkinson back to the canvas and -- more importantly -- back to making trouble.

The actor took to Twitter with the announcement, writing, "Well it's official. I'm back. And loving it."

He then added that he had "some interesting scenes to start out with" opposite Jess Walton (Jill Abbott), Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby), and Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott), before writing, "Colin is back to being Colin!"

But that's not all the popular performer wanted to share. After he announced the news that he'll be back in Genoa City, Rogers took a moment to give a shout-out to the show's new boss, Young. "Just got finished with a great day. Got to meet Mal," he wrote. "We are going to have SOME fun."

Earlier this year at the Daytime Emmys, Rogers talked to Soap Central's Dan J Kroll about the state of soaps. To watch the interview, click here.

UPDATERogers will debut on August 24.
