A published report says that Y&R's relative newcomer Sofia Pernas has been let go from The Young and the Restless -- but like any good soap story, there's a wild twist.
The Young and the Restless' Sofia Pernas (Marisa Sierras) is either having a really bad week or a really good week. It all depends on your perspective.
According to a published report by Deadline, the Y&R newcomer learned Monday that she was being let go from the CBS soap due to "budgetary reasons." However, the news shouldn't been seen as a stake to the hearts of fans.
"She's recurring and will continue to be seen on the show," a show spokesperson tells Soap Central.

Speaking of stakes, within 24 hours of her status change at The Young and the Restless, Deadline reports that Pernas auditioned, screen-tested, and landed a role in the CW drama pilot Transylvania. Pernas is slated to play Coriander, an "exotic gypsy." The series itself is set in 1880 and will focus on "the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history." There's no word yet if one of them is Victor Newman.
If the pilot isn't picked up, could Pernas once again see more Genoa City action? That's not exactly clear, but consider this: the Moroccan-born actress joined Y&R in recurring capacity in July 2015. By September, Pernas was offered a long-term contract.
UPDATE:On March 17, Pernas took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the news"I am so thrilled to announce this news!!! So happy to be on board with this monster of a show," she wrote.
