Amelia Heinle inks new Y&R contract

Amelia Heinle will remain on as Y&R's Victoria Neman for some time to come. The former All My Children and The City actress inked a new contract with the CBS soap. She made her first Y&R appearance in 2005.

Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) and The Young and the Restless have come to terms on a new contract. At the show's recent 38th anniversary party, the actress informed Soaps In Depth magazine that she'll be sticking around Genoa City.

The terms, however, were not released.

"I'm happy here," Heinle told Soaps In Depth. "The people are good here. I can't believe I've been here for six years!"

Heinle joined The Young and the Restless in 2005, and was initially met by resistance from fans who did not think that anyone other than Emmy winner Heather Tom could play the role of Victor Newman's daughter. However, judging by this year's Soap Central Dankies Awards, Heinle has won over fans. The actress picked up three nominations -- including Outstanding Lead Actress -- and, with Billy J. Miller (Billy Abbott) won Favorite Couple.

Prior to joining The Young and the Restless, Heinle appeared on All My Children as Mia Saunders from 2001 to 2004. Before that, she enjoyed on three-year run on Loving/The City in the late 1990s.

Heinle is married to former Y&R star Thad Luckinbill (ex-J.T. Hellstrom)
