Award-winning actress Victoria Rowell was one of the most-talked about former soap stars of 2009. Now, the actress may pick up in 2010 where she left off last year. According to published reports, Rowell is in talks to join the cast of Bravo's reality series, The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Mention Victoria Rowell's (Drucilla Winters) name and people are bound to start talking. The straight-talking actress may not be headed back to The Young and the Restless any time soon, but that doesn't neccessarily mean that fans won't soon see her on television.

According to numerous sources, Rowell may be in line to join the cast of Bravo's reality series, The Real Housewives of Atlanta. As you might expect, no one is speaking on the record -- yet. Rowell, who maintains a home in Atlanta with her husband, is reportedly in talks to become a castmember for the series' third season, which will began taping later this year.

Exactly how Rowell would fit in remains to be seen. Conflicting reports say that Rowell will either be a sixth housewife -- or a replacement for either Kim Zolciak or NeNe Leakes if one or both of the actresses are unable to come to terms on a new contract with the show. Zolciak and Leakes are reportedly demanding a higher expense account for the upcoming season and, to date, Bravo has balked as the requests.

To some, Rowell is seen as a controversial figure, which would play well on the almost-reality Housewives show. While fans have been lobbying executives of The Young and the Restless to bring Rowell back as Drucilla, Rowell has gone on record as saying that some of her former co-stars are doing everything in their power to prevent her return.

"I'm in the parking lot, but they won't let me in the building," Rowell posted to her Twitter page.

Meanwhile, one thing that is definitely a reality is the upcoming release of Rowell's novel, Secrets of A Soap Opera Diva. Though the title is tantalizingly delicious, the 384-page book is a work of fiction. When asked at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards if the book might have a smidge of her real-life experiences worked in, Rowell playfully replied, "Maybe just a little."

Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva is Rowell's first fictional work. In 2008, the award-winning actress released the best-seller, The Women Who Raised Me: A Memoir. The Women Who Raised Me is an amazing chronicle of Rowell's rise out of the foster care system.
