Billy Warlock is headed back to daytime television. With this latest return, the former Days of our Lives and General Hospital star is headed into unfamiliar territory -- a new show, a new network and a newly created role.
After two recent high profile dismissals from daytime, Billy Warlock is once again headed back to give soaps another shot. But this time around Warlock is doing something that he hasn't done in nearly 21 years: he is getting ready to head into uncharted waters.
In May, Warlock will join the cast of The Young and the Restless in the role of Ben Hollander, Jack Abbott's new campaign manager in the show's fictional race for the Wisconsin State Senate.

It is difficult to determine which of Warlock's previous daytime roles is his most well-known. Warlock started his daytime career on CBS's Capitol, appearing as Ricky Driscoll from 1984 to 1985. He then jumped networks to NBC's Days of our Lives playing Frankie Brady from 1986 to 1987 and 1990 to 1991. He returned to the show in June 2005, but exited the show in November 2006 as the show seemingly ran out of storyline ideas for his character. Warlock enjoyed a nearly seven-year stay on ABC's General Hospital, where he played bad boy A.J. Quartermaine. Warlock ended his GH run in April 2005 when AJ was killed off.
The newly created Y&R role will mark the first time since joining DAYS that Warlock has been the first actor to step into the shoes of his daytime alter ego. While Warlock may have been the actor with the longest run as General Hospital's AJ, Warlock was actually the eighth actor to tackle the role. He assumed the role from another well-known daytime star, Sean Kanan.
A spokesperson for The Young and the Restless was not immediately available for comment.
Warlock will make his first Y&R appearance on May 7th.
