Moore confusion surrounding Y&R actor's futurw

Will he or won't he is the big question over at The Young and the Restless. For several months now, there's been speculation over whether or not Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters) will renew his contract when it expires this spring.

Moore, an Emmy nominee and fan favorite, has said that he felt it was time to leave Y&R in search of other gigs outside of daytime television.

Moore, who was spotted by the Y&R casting department when he appeared in a razor commercial, has found work outside Genoa City even while appearing as Malcolm. He's made appearances on Moesha, The Nanny, and Chicago Hope. He was also featured in the television movie, Mama Flora's Family and in the upcoming It's Goin' Down.

Word on the street is that the casting folks at Y&R already have a replacement in place should Moore opt out of the show --- Real Andrews (Taggert, General Hospital).

There's hope that Shemar will stay on especially since Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) has re-signed with the show and been quite vocal about wanting his on-screen brother to stick around.
