The Daily Y.A.P.P For Beyond the Gates, April 4th

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Vanessa has been getting closer with Joey Armstron, and Joey's intentions seem…personal. Is Vanessa in danger? She could be. Ted confeses to his wife Nicole that their friend Ernie isn’t touring the works on his yacht because he loves sailing so much and has all the free time in the world. Ernie is running from Joey. During their conversation, Joey told Vanessa that his motive for seeking property advice is to purchase a home for his aging mother, something fit for her and her conditions. The problem is that even if the hot tub is filled from the fountain of youth, it’s too late for Mrs Armstrong. Or should I say the late Mrs Armstrong? She happened to pass away on the operating table. A year ago. Ernie was the surgeon, and despite all his best efforts, he couldn't save her. Joey blames Ernie, and his threats sent Ernie to flee for his life and keep running. After Ted told Nicole this, Nicole hurried to the country club to warn Vanessa.

After hearing Nicole speak about the lies that Joey is telling, Vanessa calls Joey to meet her at the club immediately. Vanessa asks Joey how his mother is, and he says that she has good days and bad days. Well, I’d say being 6 feet under would constitute a bad day, aye? Joey then feels that Vanessa knows and asks how, and Vanessa says a better question is why. Joey explains that his mother's pursuit of beauty led her to the fatal surgery. The lie was because he needed the house for himself; he, too, is trying to resist aging by hitting the gym and eating right, and he hopes that Vanessa can forgive him and still work with him. He flatters her with compliments on her beauty and says that she has also pursued a brilliant career. The Flattery works wonders, and Vanessa is batting her eyelashes in no time. Vanessa agrees to work with Joey and find him a home, as long as there are no more lies. Joey says he doesn't want anything between them and places his hand on hers. Diego sees this from across the room. Oh Boy, between Joey and Diego, Vanessa has her work cut out for her, her next workout could be a killer.
