Beyond the Gates, CBS’s sudser that will be gracing our screens in less than a month is giving us another peek into the gated community that promises lots of drama, intrigue, and other soapy entertainment.

The new daytime drama premieres February 24, 2025, but eager fans-to-be are getting another glimpse into the show, the characters, and the storylines. In the newest video preview, the Durpees are living a luxurious lifestyle and in the gated community of Fairmont Crest of Washington, DC.

Out at a fancy restaurant (that has a customized gold table sign for the family that is engraved “Reserved for the Duprees”), matriarch Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) asks her daughter Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) if she has spoken to her sister, Dani (Karla Cheatham Mosely). “Dani was blindsided by Bill and Hayley’s affair,” Nicole replies.

Dani’s at home, flinging her coffee mug across the kitchen. Her neighbor, real estate agent Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) comes in and looks at the smashed cup on the ground. “So much for ‘Stop by for a cup of coffee,’” she quips. Later, Anita tells a tearful Dani to remember who she is — a Dupree woman. “Find your inner strength,” Anita advises her daughter.

Anita tells Dani that her cycle of anger isn’t healthy. “I’ll be healthy again as soon as I make a couple of cheaters pay for blowing up my life,” Dani says with a wicked grin.

Later, at the restaurant, the Duprees gather as Anita tells them how it warms her heart to see her beautiful family and how proud she is of all of them.

In another scene, Vernon answers the door to Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett). “There were a number of times when you or a member of your family needed a favor. This is a situation where you owe me one,” Bill tells him.

The show takes scene outside as well. Driving alone at night, someone is run off the road and lands in the hospital. “It sounds like someone deliberately tried to hurt you,” Nicole says. “I found out who did it,” a voice says as several more dramatic and passionate scenes are shown of other cast members.

“You couldn’t possibly hurt me more than you already have,” Dani tells Bill. “Don’t try me,” he replies sternly. As more scenes flash, Dani slaps Hayley; there is modeling, a wedding, and someone holding a gun. Gravely, Vernon tells Anita that they have a problem, and they agree that protecting the family is their priority.

Beyond the Gates is a debut project from the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture will air weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. PT on the CBS Television Network. It will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount Plus.
