Beyond the Gates is the groundbreaking new partnership between CBS and NCAAP, the first soap to have a predominantly black cast and the first brand-new soap since 1999.
Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood

Jen Jacob, who plays nurse Ashley Morgan, posted a photo of dressing room 127 on her Instagram page. This room is shared by Jen and Lauren Bugliol, who plays Vanessa McBride. On the show, Vanessa owns a real estate company specializing in luxury homes; we assume this includes Fairmont Estates, a much-vaunted gated community the entire show revolves around.
Jen also shared a look at, “Welcome to the Neighborhood,” a five-part behind-the-scenes special by “Entertainment Tonight,” which airs Monday, Feb 17th through to Friday, Feb 21st on CBS (2:00-2:30 PM, ET; 1:00-1:30 PM, PT)
The five-parter is hosted by “Entertainment Tonights” Kevin Frazier, comedian, and well-known TV host Sheryl Underwood. Things are really starting to ramp up now that the new show is only weeks away from being on air, and fans are hungry for all the information, inside scoops, and what to watch for stuff they can get their hands on. Fans love to know they were “There from the beginning,” a soap fan’s badge of honor and an SME (Subject Matter Expert). So don't miss out; set your DVR to record as you know you’ll want to replay moments and memorize details. Stay tuned for more Beyond the Gates inside information on SoapCentral.com.
Beyond the Gates breaks new ground

Why it's groundbreaking: BTG is the first Black-centric daytime drama on CBS and the first new daytime soap on a significant American network since Passions in 1999. It celebrates Black culture through its costumes, hairstyles, and set designs and highlights the lives and experiences of Black families. Veteran soap writer and producer Michele Val Jean created the show; Sheila Ducksworth, president of the CBS Studios/NAACP venture partnership, is a co-executive producer. CBS Studios produces the show in collaboration with NAACP Venture and Procter & Gamble Studios. BTG is set in a gated community in Maryland and focuses on the Dupree and Richardons families, as the expected range of soap dramas and scandals affect them. The show will premiere on CBS on February 24, 2025. The show also highlights Black culture through storytelling, costumes, hairstyles, and set designs and is the most highly anticipated project of early 2025.
