Beyond the Gates Star Tamara Tunie Celebrates Her Birthday

Tamara Tunie was born and raised in McKeesport, PA. She is a well-known American film, stage, and television actress, director, and producer. She is perhaps best known for her roles as attorney Jessica Griffin on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns and medical examiner Melinda Warner in the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Now, Tunie leads a strong cast in the CBS Soap Opera Beyond the Gates.

We’re presenting this now because this is a part of Black life and culture that has been a part of the history of this country and the fabric of this country for hundreds and hundreds of years.”
