What to expect on Beyond the Gates
Laura (Destiny Love) hasn't had the easiest time on Beyond the Gates. She had an amazing job being the personal assistant to Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) but quickly ran afoul of Leslie’s (Trisha Mann-Grant) plan to assimilate her daughter Eva (Ambyr Michelle) into the Richardsons life, and become Nicole's new assistant. To do that Leslie ran Laura off the road and her resulting crash and injuries have kept her hospitalized thus far. Just when we thought Laura had recovered enough to leave hospital, Nurse Lulu (Leslie in disguise) appeared at her bedside while she was sleeping, and injected her IV line with potassium and caused her a heart attack. With potassium levels spiked but later showing normal, the hospital is keeping Laura under observation. In Thursday's episode Nicole takes charge of Laura’s mysterious case. Will Nurse Lulu alter Laura's medical records again? Pointing suspicion elsewhere?
The gambler and the godfather
Joey (Jon Lindstrom) might not be the Godfather but he’s no less dangerous. Doug (Jason Graham) after injuring himself, was confronted by Joey in the hospital, not in reception, but right in the heart of the hospital. Showing that Joey can get to Doug anywhere, anytime. Doug told Joey he wasn't returning to the tables, but he needs another way of paying his debt, and he doesn't want Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) brought into his mess at all. How can he keep her out of this? In Thursday's episode Doug wrestles with his demons, can he find another way out or is his marriage going to get even more affected.

Joey told Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) that he didn't want what Doug would pay him, rather he wanted what Doug could get for him, his wife. Joey wants to launder his money through Vanessa's realty business as the turnover matches perfectly with Joey's needs. Is it too late for Doug to find another solution to his problems? On Thursday's episode Vanessa and Joey forge a risky pact. If caught money laundering for Joey, Vanessa will lose everything, her business, her license and her freedom, poor Doug stands to lose all of that and more. Joey seems perfectly capable of putting the hurt on someone, and if Doug wants to keep his miracle hands then he better get on top of things before Joey does.
