On Beyond the Gates, Hayley has gone from being a Legal Aid at Bill’s law firm and friend of the Duprees to being a social outcast in the space of one episode, but is there more to this?

Who is Hayley on Beyond the Gates

We are now only two episodes into the all-new, groundbreaking show Beyond the Gates, and already the air is thick with drama — and the well-established gated community of Fairmont Crest is rife with it.

The first titillating scandal we were introduced to was how Dani (Karla Mosley) and Bill's (Timon Kyle Durett) marriage was rocked by a cheating scandal. Bill had an affair with Hayley (Marquita Goings) and is now not only marrying her at the country club everyone goes to, but they bought a house just down the road from where Bill’s ex-wife Dani now lives alone with her humiliation. The fans and viewers took to the Soap Central message boards to discuss Hayley Lawson, the soon-to-be Mrs. Bill Hamilton.

Hayley: home wrecking social climber or misunderstood young woman in love?

User MrsValentine wrote, “From first impressions, I think she’s a social climber who has no qualms about how she gets her fancy house and rich husband. It’s too early to know for sure but is it love or love for certain lifestyle? what vibe are you getting from Haley?”

Thecourt99 replied with, “I can't read her yet. She seems to be a young woman in love, but she's way to idealistic about how she will be received by people. Something is off with her. I also don't know if the invite, wedding location and new home was her idea or Bill's.”

chillowfan84 said, “so far she comes off as a miss kiss my butt bitch. she knows these people have a right to hate her but keeps showing up in their line of sighbt-going back to the country club today agreeing to move to that area.” Mermaid777 replied to chillowfan84,” That’s my take on her, too.”

Raheast wrote, “I can't read Haley. She comes off as naive, in love, and tone-deaf. When she approached Dani at the clubhouse seeking reconciliation, she did not understand what she was asking. However, she maybe in love, but the old boy is not. He is using her as a power grab.”

ForeverPluto has a theory, ”She is a little too sweet/naive acting. It makes me think she has always had a plan to infiltrate this family, probably for revenge. Personally, I think Haley is a Dupree herself. Maybe she is an illegitimate daughter of either the patriarch or the Dupree daughters.”

Suppose I were asked as to what my theory is. In that case, I have said as much in my article about Bill playing hardball with Vernon (Clifton Davis) and that further to that, just maybe, Hayley is the daughter of Dana and Ted, conceived amidst a scandal involving a potential malpractice suit and possible assault charges that Bill conveniently made disappear. This would answer the question of what Bill could use as leverage over the Dupree family and would go a long way to explaining Hayley's orphan beginnings.
