Can Beyond the Gates' Hayley hold her own against the Duprees?

Thus far on Beyond the Gates, Hayley (Marquita Goings) has been taking blow after blow from the Dupree family with no fuss. In fact, up until recently, she hadn’t fought back at all.

On the March 17th episode, however, Hayley threatened Dani (Karla Mosley) with a restraining order following her antics at Hayley and Bill's (Timon Kyle Durrett) nuptials and her breaking into their home. But is Hayley as innocent as she seems? Is she harmless? Or, is she waiting until everyone isn’t looking to unleash a whole lot of crazy?

Beyond the Gates of unknown origin

It's been referenced numerous times during BTG's short life that Hayley came from humble — as well as unknown — beginnings. Even the Dupree family, who took her in and treated her as their own pre-affair with Bill, have no clue where this woman came from, yet they let her into their home. For all they knew, she could’ve been a serial killer, a con artist, or any number of terrible (and dangerous) things. But, against their better judgment, they let her into their lives and supported her, allowing her access to everything and everyone, including Bill.

And now, this unknown character has access to them, their lives, and their spouses’ lives. The affair with Bill is, quite possibly, rather tame compared to the havoc Hayley could’ve caused for the family.

Will Hayley push back even more?

A restraining order isn't much to threaten after someone shoots up your wedding, but it’s on par with the persona that Hayley has put on thus far. The entire Dupree family showed up to the wedding in all black and refused to stand as Hayley made her entrance. That alone is enough to anger a bride on her special day, but having a gun pulled on you as well? That would send any person, sane or not, over the edge.

However, Hayley persevered, and she and Bill still exchanged vows. It wasn’t until Dani broke into their home that Hayley finally stood up to her and threatened to file a restraining order if she didn’t leave her and Bill alone. But is Hayley capable of more than a restraining order? Does she have a few tricks up her sleeve as well? She did end her latest encounter with Dani stating “Don’t try me again, Dani. You don’t want to see what happens when you do.”

The Duprees and their army vs. Bill, Hayley, and…Caroline?

Although Hayley could potentially be a danger to the family, both physically and mentally, with possibly knowing family secrets, the Duprees are a very wealthy family with connections that stretch beyond the gates of Fairmont Crest.

Bill seems to feel that he can take on the Duprees as he also has a good amount of wealth, his own law firm, ties to the town through “favors” from past won cases, and some dirt on the Dupree family that he has no problem leveraging at his convenience. Hayley has her uncovered past, Bill, and her bestie, Caroline (Ellie Wang). But will that be enough to take on the highly esteemed Dupree family? Or will the Dupree family send Bill and Hayley packing with their tails tucked in between their legs?
