On Beyond the Gates, the Duprees accepted Tomás at Kat's birthday party, but Kat flamed Eva for her inadvertent appearance, causing Eva to be comforted by Ted. Kat and Chelsea decided to cast Samantha as their new company's apprentice model, an arrangement Kat was sure Martin would go for. Kat also pitched an idea to bring Dani on as their marketing manager, but Chelsea had serious reservations.

Andre and Nicole were stunned when Ted blew up and demanded Nicole not to blame herself for the past troubles they'd had because of her miscarriages. Privately, Andre warned the stressed Ted to pick the right time to tell Nicole about his affair with “Dana” instead of blurting it out to ease his conscience. Andre found Dani drunk again and caught flak from her for advising her to stop ruining herself because of being dumped by Bill. Pamela started “Operation Gemstone” to help Dani get her groove back; at the country club, Dani's warning to Hayley that Bill would tire of Hayley – as he had Dani – was genuine, and Dani arranged for Hayley to finally receive service from the wait staff. Bill was resistant at first when he learned that Hayley might be pregnant, but he soon warmed to the idea.

Naomi decided her father-daughter relationship with Bill was more important than defeating him in court, so she arranged for another lawyer to take over the case of Mike's accusers. However, Naomi did get Bill to agree to a new clause in the settlement that would give the women greater power in creating a less toxic workplace. Bill fired Mike, who called Bill a hypocrite for the affair he'd had with Hayley in the same office.

Following his decision to quit gambling, Doug was cheerful and stood his ground when Randy tried to lure Doug back to the poker tables. Concerned about Doug's level of overwork, Vanessa asked her husband if he was trying to get away from her and if he was having an affair. Doug denied it and became despondent when he lost a patient on the operating table, which prompted him to slam his fist in frustration and break his hand. As Doug realized he'd lose money from being removed from surgery, which would hamper his attempt to repay his debt to Joey, Armstrong visited Doug and announced they had a problem. Joey told Randy that his plan was to bankrupt Doug so he'd have to come clean to Vanessa, which Joey hoped would force Vanessa into allowing him to use her real estate business for money laundering.

Martin found out about the contested photo of Tyrell in his underwear that had humiliated him at school, and went to see Tyrell's principal without Smitty at his side. Smitty felt they should have let Tyrell stand up for himself, and Tyrell considered Martin and his interference part of the problem. Tyrell found strength when Jessica, the girl who'd been sent Tyrell's picture — and whose boyfriend had punched Tyrell — met with Tyrell and bonded with him.

Leslie fretted that her plan to get revenge on Ted had the side effect of the Richardsons getting to spend more time with Eva than Leslie did. Eva worried that Ted and Nicole would reject her after Leslie's exposure because of her part in the deception. Naomi found Anita nostalgic for her singing days, so, under the ruse of giving Dani a night out to cheer her up, Naomi plotted with Dani to cheer Anita up.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount Plus.
