Hayley called Bill from the club and said it had been a morning, but she was hoping to salvage what was left and had a stop to make before going to the office.

At their home office, Nicole told Ted that Bill and Hayley bought a house on Marigold Drive, and Ted thought that was cold, even for Bill. She recounted the scene at the club; Ted regretted missing it. Nicole noted how well Dani had treated both Bill and Hayley and was angry enough for her to punch someone herself. Ted offered his support and said he needed to get to the hospital. Before leaving, Ted suggested they have a family gathering as his nephew Andre was in town.

Nicole rolled her eyes when Hayley came in and asked to talk to her. Hayley brought cookies, and asked Nicole to start fresh with her to help her assimilate herself in Fairmont Crest. Nicole was clear that her loyalties were with her sister and always would be. Hayley insisted that her friendship with the Duprees was real, but so was her love for Bill. She didn’t expect open arms right away but knew that Nicole’s support would go a long way. Nicole said it was Dani’s decision and the community would follow her lead. She told Hayley to take her cookies and leave.

At the Dupree home, Vernon and Martin discussed Dani punching Hayley at the country club. Vernon was appalled that Dani would resort to physical violence, but Martin thought some people deserved to get a punch in the face. Vernon was distressed to see Dani suffer. Although he understood people fall out of love, there was a way to end things with dignity. Martin noted that Hayley thought she was falling into a fairy tale, but Bill would show her who he was soon enough. Vernon asked how Martin’s home life was going because of what he said earlier about wanting more. Martin assured him that everything was good.

Vernon recalled how he’d helped Bill start up his practice by sending him celebrity clients. Martin said Bill was a narcissist and control freak who took advantage for his own gains. Vernon was sorry to see Dani hurting but was glad to know that Bill was out of the family as he’d seen what goes on in it long enough.

Dani was at home, watching a slideshow on the TV of her wedding photos, when Anita came in. Dani pointed out how the photos showed how much Bill had loved her. “How am I left in this house all alone?” she cried on Anita’s shoulder.

Dani got angry thinking about Hayley. Anita didn’t think hitting her was a good idea, but Dani said it felt better than anything had in a long time. Anita didn’t ordinarily approve of violence but knew sometimes people deserved a sucker punch. She just didn’t want Dani to make a habit of it.

Dani recalled how she received her divorce papers the same day Bill and Hayley booked the country club for their wedding. She wondered what she did to deserve the pain. Anita advised that although she knew how deeply Dani felt, she couldn’t let her hurt eat her alive. “Stop letting those losers get the best of you,” she said.

Anita agreed that Hayley and Bill didn’t belong there and that the Dupree family built Fairmont Crest. She said that Bill fooled them all and she would be mindful of the next person who came into their circle. Nothing Anita said got through to Dani, as she was solely focused on getting revenge. Once alone, Dani got dressed. She did a shot of vodka as she put on makeup and looked at her wedding photo.

Ashley’s mom, Jan Morgan, Jan’s friend Leslie, and Leslie’s daughter Eva, came to the hospital to congratulate her on her new career as a nurse. She gave her mom credit for being so supportive of her. They chatted for a few minutes, but then Ashley had to get to work. As the women went to the elevator, they passed Ted. Leslie spotted Ted and stared at him as he went to the nurses’ station.

Nicole arrived and told Ashley to have a great first day. The head nurse came up and told Ashley she was there to train her. After advising her to ask what she didn’t know, they left to do rounds.

When Ashley returned, Andre was at the nurses’ station. He asked if she was still seeing the firefighter that stole her away. He took a photograph of her. Ashley’s supervisor warned her that Andre was a player and to stay away from him, noting that she knew about Derek. She claimed she made it her business to know who she was working with.

In Bill’s office, he practiced putting with a golf club. Hayley came in and told him what happened and how she handled it with her head held high. Bill wanted to rein Dani in, but Hayley begged him not to. She said the morning hadn’t gone the way she wanted. She got the keys to their house, only to be told by Vanessa that she’d always be an outcast, punched by Dani, and then sent packing by Nicole.

Hayley wondered if they should cancel the country club wedding and elope elsewhere. She noted they didn’t have any guests except employees anyway. Bill said that getting married there was her dream, and it was a situation where reasonability could come through. He left to make that happen.

At home, Smitty was on the phone and doing the laundry when Martin came through the front door. “Hello, husband,” they said to one another as they hugged. Martin told Smitty that being with his grandad reminded him who he was. He wanted to instill his heritage into their home. They talked about their adopted teens and Smitty shared that 17-year-old Tyrell seemed to be going through something as he was being secretive and moody. They agreed to let 16-year-old Samantha start dating.

Smitty noted that Martin’s dreams came back whenever he got exhausted and wanted to help him work through whatever he was going through. Martin changed the topic and walked away, to Smitty’s frustration.

Vernon was surprised when he opened the door to Bill. He told him he wasn’t welcome, but Bill wanted to talk to him, so he let him in. “I heard about the regrettable incident at the country club earlier. Not cool on Dani’s part,” he said. He noted that Hayley was willing to let it slide but wanted a favor. He said that Hayley wanted Vernon to use his ‘considerable influence’ to convince the family and others from the community to attend his wedding. “A respectable showing is what I’m asking for,” Bill concluded.

Vernon reminded him that the Dupree women would not want anything to do with him or his wedding. Vernon opened the door as he told Bill it was a waste of his time to ask. Before leaving, Bill told Vernon that there were plenty of times he did favors for the Duprees, and he was asking the favor be returned. With a wink, he told Vernon to think about it and to have a nice day.

When Anita came home, Vernon told her that Bill had just been there and they had a problem. He said that Bill mentioned favors rendered in the past, but not in a threatening way. Anita thought that Bill acting humble was a red flag. Vernon agreed that Bill couldn't be trusted and would use what he had against them if needed. Anita said they couldn’t take any risks with Bill and had to protect Martin no matter what.

Eva and Leslie returned to their apartment and talked about how Leslie was doing. Eva said she would support her mom, knowing what happened to her all those years ago. “Don’t worry about me. I’m all in,” Eva told her.

Andre took photos of Ted and Nicole in their office at the hospital. He noted that he also wanted to capture some at their residence. Ted told Andre that Kat was at home and could show him around. After Andre left, Ted noted that his nephew reminded him so much of his deceased brother.

At Bill’s office, Dani stomped in. Despite office workers trying to stop her, she stormed into Bill’s office and interrupted a meeting. The people sitting in the chairs in front of him jumped and ran as Dani grabbed a golf club and cleared his desk with it. She smashed it down and then pushed it toward his face as he leaned back in his chair to avoid being hit. “You sorry son of a bitch!” she growled.
