Here's what happened on the April 1, 2025 episode of Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Mike's accusers apologized for wasting Naomi's time and prepared to leave, but Naomi informed them that Bill had played them by dangling a settlement but not going into specifics about it. Naomi exhorted the women to stick with the suit, because, if they settled, they would have sullied reputations on top of being unemployed. After Naomi pointed out that Mike would also remain free to prey on new, unsuspecting female hires at the firm, the women changed their minds – the suit was back on.
Hayley visited Bill at the office, sensing he was preoccupied. Bill intimated that Naomi was going to drop the suit, and Hayley was certain it was because of her talk with Naomi. After Bill heard how Hayley had reminded Naomi how ruthless Bill was, Bill asked Hayley not to intercede further so she wouldn't get hurt. Hayley revealed she already had been: she had been edged out of a tennis game at the Fairmont Crest country club because the other players were “Team Dani.” Bill was furious and wanted to call the president of the country club to complain, but Hayley stopped him. Bill wished everybody could see Hayley the way he did.
After Hayley left, Bill called the country club president anyway but was interrupted by Naomi. Bill denied that he had tried to intimidate Naomi's clients and was glad to hear that they had changed their minds about suing the firm. “Oh, you thought you won?” Naomi smiled, announcing that that round had gone to her. Now, Naomi reported, Mike's victims weren't just suing for themselves but for women everywhere. Naomi knew that Bill's M.O. was to push until he got his way – like how he'd sicced Hayley on her, for example.
Bill insisted he'd had nothing to do with Hayley's confrontation and disagreed with Naomi's opinion that Bill found Naomi inept. Naomi felt that Hayley should stick to handling the problems associated with being an outcast at Fairmont Crest. When Bill said he would tackle the country club's ostracizing of Hayley, Naomi accused Bill of thinking he was magic when, the truth was, Bill had only been standing in Dani's light. Everyone still loved Dani, while they hated what Bill had done to Dani.
Dani stared intently at a decanter of vodka, but before she could avail herself of it, Chelsea returned to apologize. Dani snapped that Chelsea didn't want her to make a mess of Chelsea's life like she had her own, but Chelsea affirmed that hadn't been what she meant when she told Dani to back off of her purse company. When Dani softened and asked if there was something she could do to help, Chelsea gently asked her mother to let her embark on the venture on her own.
Dani was angry that Chelsea seemed to feel Dani was going to monopolize everything – until Dani came to the realization that she might be feeling like Chelsea was dumping her for Kat the way Bill had dumped her for Hayley. Chelsea was sorry, but Dani told her “brave girl” that she had every right to fly, and that, by doing so, Chelsea was helping to set Dani free.
At Orphey Gene's, Chelsea was on a call with Kat, telling her how things had gone down with Dani. She agreed that it wasn't her fault that Dani was hurt and sad; just when Chelsea lamented to Kat that everything had been fine before “that husband-stealing, home-wrecking stepmonster of mine” had come along, Hayley walked in and heard what Chelsea said. Chelsea wondered why Hayley wasn't at the country club, since she had obviously married up to experience the finer things; Chelsea wouldn't believe it when Hayley was adamant that she had married Bill for love. Chelsea suggested that Hayley move away from Fairmont Crest and sassed that Hayley's specialty was making herself comfortable in other people's beds.
When Chelsea asked if Hayley realized how much pain she had caused, Hayley was amazed that no one ever addressed the pain Dani had caused her. Chelsea was incredulous, even when Hayley detailed how Dani had punched her and shot at her. Hayley balked when Chelsea said Dani had been driven to her actions. “She's my mother!” Chelsea shouted. “Maybe if you had one...” Chelsea stopped herself and acknowledged that her words hadn't come out right. She hadn't been thinking straight, and Dani hadn't been either – though Dani was better now. “Did Dani tell you that?!” Hayley asked, floored.
Hayley correctly assumed that Chelsea hadn't heard about Dani breaking into Bill and Hayley's house and polishing off their wine while smashing their wedding photo. Responding to Chelsea's slight, Hayley said that if her mother were around, Hayley would be able to recognize when she was struggling and get her help. Worried that Dani's infractions could escalate, Hayley asked, “What if someone seriously gets hurt?”
Chelsea said that she couldn't control her mother. No, Hayley responded, but Chelsea could control how she treated her father. Bill's love for his girls, Hayley averred, was unshakable. Hayley assured Chelsea that she didn't owe her anything, but Hayley hoped Chelsea could forgive Bill. Chelsea thought Hayley had nerve asking her to help fix something that Hayley broke, but she grudgingly agreed to think about forgiveness.
Nurse supervisor Shanice bragged to a friend on the phone about her involvement in Andre's documentary while, across the nurses' station, Andre denied that he was avoiding Ashley. Ms. Morgan pointed out that Andre had scheduled interviews with every nurse except her and deduced that Andre hadn't gotten over almost kissing her. Andre agreed that it wouldn't happen again, and Ashley asked him to stop ghosting her. “What are we, like, five?” she asked.
Gossipy Shanice saw Andre and Ashley in heavy conversation and positioned herself so she could listen in as Ashley reminded Andre that they were friends. Andre shook Ashley's hand, but the gesture lingered a little too long. Ashley called the moment awkward. Andre said they were cool and that he would let her know about the documentary shoot just before they experienced another pregnant pause. After Andre took off, Shanice told Ashley that the looks she and Andre were giving each other indicated they had it bad for each other.
Ashley reminded Shanice of her own advice: it was dangerous to make assumptions. The newbie nurse relayed that she and Andre had only been talking about the documentary. Shanice joked that when Ashley was through with Derek, she would help him heal his broken heart.
At Uptown, Jacob and Derek looked over the article Andre had done on Derek for The Washington Sleuth. When Jacob noted how terrible Derek looked in Andre's photo, Derek noted that Ashley had looked like a goddess in hers. From that, Jacob wondered if Andre had a thing for Ashley. Jacob said he would stand by Derek if Andre started acting up, with the men laughing that first responders against a photographer wasn't a fair fight. Derek assumed jet setter Andre would be leaving town any minute anyway, and, even if Andre did fancy Ashley, she was super into Derek.
Jacob spotted Marcel at the bar; he explained to Derek how Marcel had been a jerk at first but now was bending over backwards to be nice. Jacob approached Marcel and wanted him to admit that Elon had influenced Marcel's attitude shift. Marcel spat that Chief Hawthorne had better things to do than ask him to babysit. Jacob didn't want to be coddled; Marcel said he wouldn't make that mistake again and was ready to pick a fight. Just then, Naomi joined them, jovially telling Marcel she'd heard a lot about him, but Marcel grunted, paid his bill, and left. Afterwards, Naomi told Jacob about the vacillation of her case and pondered whether she had her clients' best interests at heart or just her own.
Andre approached Derek at his table and noticed the article about Derek on Derek's tablet. Derek said he would endure a four-alarm fire before posing for another picture. Andre shared his desire to highlight the people who saved lives through his work and told Derek about the documentary featuring Garland Memorial's nurses. Derek knew that Ashley took her job seriously and hoped the project wouldn't interfere with her duties. Andre said he had noticed Ashley's dedication when they'd delivered the baby together, though Andre felt he had barely helped. But Derek, Andre marveled, defied death every day and Andre wanted to know about it, offering to buy Derek a drink.
Ashley came home to find Derek waiting for her; he relayed how Andre had been added to his hangtime with Jacob. Ashley played it cool and confirmed what Andre had told Derek about the documentary. Ashley's eyebrows raised when Derek described how he'd turned down Andre's drink...but invited him for dinner instead.
Andre nearly texted Ashley but thought better of it; he then thought back to the moment he almost kissed her. Shanice commented that Andre seemed discombobulated, so, on the condition of privacy, Andre admitted he'd agreed to an engagement when he shouldn't have and couldn't get out of it. Shanice advised Andre to attend, but then act like had a phone call and needed to leave. Andre considered this; Shanice salivated watching him walk out.
On the phone, Dani assured the worried fashion show organizers that Chelsea had quit modeling of her own volition, and that she would find them another model. After she hung up, her smile left her face and she poured herself some vodka, telling herself she'd have “just one.” As she stalled taking a sip, her phone buzzed; she was surprised to hear Bill on the other end, saying he wanted to come over and talk. Dani played annoyed until they hung up – but as soon as they did, Dani was all smiles and ran upstairs to change into a sexy red leather dress.
When Bill arrived, he observed that nothing in his former home had changed. There was a charged moment when Bill and Dani discussed how they'd decorated the house together upon first moving in. Bill asked for a drink and offered Dani one; Dani accepted but chose sparkling water. Bill revealed that he'd found a buyer for their house in Rehobeth, Maryland. Dani was bummed because she'd hoped to summer there with Chelsea and Naomi, but there was “always the vineyard.”
Bill asked if Dani knew where the deed was. Dani pulled it from a photo album which showed her and Bill on the property in their younger days. They reminisced about how much work they'd put into their house on the beach and how much their girls had loved it there. Bill remarked that they'd had good times in Rehobeth...and that all the photos were taken before their daughters hated him. Dani gently replied that Naomi and Chelsea were gravely disappointed in what Bill had done, but there was a difference.
Bill sighed that “this” felt retaliatory. When Dani looked lost, Bill was sure Dani knew about Naomi's lawsuit. “What'd you do?” Dani asked cynically. After Bill explained that three former employees had brought a sexual harassment case against one of his partners, Dani took a moment to react, then had to keep herself from laughing. Dani soon cracked up and told the amused Bill that she was proud of Naomi for taking him on. Of course she was, Bill deadpanned, because Naomi was “Team Dani” like everyone else.
Dani asked into the meaning of “Team Dani”, but Bill only opened the photo album again and was awed at how Dani had looked in a bikini, adding that he had glowed with pride because she was married to him while so many other men wanted her. Bill remembered a romantic night they had spent together at that time, and after the exes disputed which R&B artist had been on the stereo, Dani kissed Bill passionately – and Bill kissed her back.
