At the country club, Vanessa had breakfast with Nicole and Dani. She relayed how she had received a call from Anita and Vernon and was told she was to attend Bill and Hayley’s wedding — at Dani’s request. Dani bit her tongue while Nicole made up a narrative that Dani didn’t want Chelsea and Naomi to have to go alone and put her animosity aside for the sake of her kids.
Hayley approached their table and asked to speak to Dani. They walked around the corner, and Hayley asked what she could do for Dani to forgive and move on. Dani told her it wasn’t her job to make things pleasant for her and intended to drive her out of Fairmont Crest.
At Nicole’s home office, Mona answered a phone call, hoping it was Laura as she was late for work, but it was Leslie. When Nicole came in, Mona told her she was concerned. Ted called from the hospital and revealed that Laura was there and she had been hurt.
Nicole went to the hospital, and Mona called Leslie back to tell her. Mona couldn’t understand who would want to hurt Laura. Leslie suggested that Eva take Laura’s place at work while Laura recovered. Mona thought it was a great idea. Leslie assured Mona that Eva had computer skills and that being around Nicole would be a great experience. Mona excitedly told Leslie to have Eva call her.
At the park, Naomi made a video call to Ashley at the hospital to confirm their plans for later. As she hung up, her dad approached and said he’d tracked her down to talk to her. He wanted her respect back, but Naomi was far from feeling it.
Bill told Naomi that people fall out of love, and relationships become untenable. Naomi was upset that he slept with her best friend. Bill wanted to make a start of getting his relationships back on track with Naomi and Chelsea. Naomi told him she wasn’t interested. “As far as I’m concerned, my father is dead!” Naomi snapped.
Bill told Naomi that her words hurt, so she continued. “You don’t deserve my forgiveness, not after the casual way you blew up this family. And for what? A conniving little slut who couldn’t keep her legs closed?” Naomi asked. She then lectured him, saying that he had no class, moving into the community without letting hearts heal first. Naomi thought he tossed away his life with her mom for someone younger. “You are the book's oldest, most disgusting cliche!” she concluded.
Bill told Naomi that he knew everyone hated hearing it and was sorry people were hurt, but he loved Hayley and thought it was better to leave than stay in a loveless marriage. Naomi told him it wasn’t about ending the marriage, it was about flaunting Hayley in Dani’s face by getting married at the country club and moving to Fairmont Crest. Bill agreed that emotions were raw, but it was his community for decades, too. Naomi told him he was despicable, cold, arrogant, and selfish. She asked where his respect was when he was unzipping his pants for Hayley. Bill balked, but Naomi reminded him he sought her out, not the other way around, and if he didn’t like his reception, he could turn around and walk away, which he did.
At the hospital, Ted and Ashley reviewed Laura’s chart. She was anxious to get out of there, citing that Nicole needed her, and she planned a trip to Maui. Ashley explained that her recovery had to come first. Nicole came in as Ted told her that he’d cover her displaced fracture surgery and that she could recover at his clinic for free.
Laura said she couldn’t be out of commission for six to eight weeks because she had too much work to do for Nicole and her planned holiday. She told them the details of what happened with her accident, and Ted and Nicole thought it sounded like she was deliberately run off the road. Ted suggested it was attempted murder and offered to call Naomi’s husband, Jacob, as he was a robbery and homicide detective.
Laura sobbed to Ashley that she thought she was going to die when she was run off the road. Meanwhile, Ted and Nicole made arrangements to have her transferred to Ted’s clinic. When they told her, Laura thanked them and apologized to Nicole for not being able to work. Nicole assured Laura she had nothing ot be sorry about and that the accident was not her fault.
At Bill’s office, the staff surprised Hayley with a party to celebrate their love. A couple of men commented that Dani was no slouch when he met her, but Bill was with the new and improved version now. Hayley made a speech about her new life and was grateful for the love, laughter, and work she was proud of. “I now have abundance, and it’s all because of you, Bill,” she told him. Bill and Hayley thanked everyone but they wanted to go home and rest up for their big wedding day in the morning.
In her dressing room, Chelsea discussed the family meeting with Kat. They couldn’t believe that they’d been ordered to attend the wedding. Worse, Chelsea was sure that after Dani had all night to think about it, she’d come in to work and take her frustration about the situation out on her.
Chelsea was modeling, and Andre was taking photos when Dani stomped into the studio. She immediately complained about Chelsea’s hair, making Chelsea walk away upset. Andre sidled up to Dani and told her she must’ve been a sight when she was the star of the runway. He motioned to some of her modeling photos on the wall, but Dani said she was better in person. She then lamented that Bill had entered her life and hoped he burned in the hottest corner of hell.
Andre returned to taking pictures of Chelsea, but Dani wanted her to change her shoes. Chelsea argued that she liked how they looked with the outfit, but Dani overruled her. When she was changing, Chelsea complained to Kat that Dani doing that took away from her being her own woman.
Andre suggested to Dani that she sit out the next set, but she refused. She said that as Chelsea’s manager, it was her job to supervise and guide her. Andre understood but claimed Dani was soaking all the fun out of the process. He told her to just watch and enjoy it, which Dani did. Afterward, Dani told Chelsea she did a great job, and she was all smiles. Dani told Andre he’d helped tremendously, and he said he was open to whatever he could do to make things better. Dani suggested that he hang around after and have a drink with her, and Andre agreed.
After the day was over, Kat and Chelsea went to Uptown for drinks. They were happy with the way Andre had turned things around and were excited about the future. Chelsea noticed a man looking at her. After Kat left, he approached Chelsea and asked if she was alone. “Not anymore,” she replied.
Across the bar, Ashley and Derek had dinner with Naomi and Jacob. Ashley was wearing the stethoscope necklace they gave her for her new job. Naomi told them about her talk with her dad and that she would hold him accountable with her very last breath.
Ashley asked if they had heard about Laura, and Jacob said he had. They told Naomi what happened, and Ashley updated her that Laura needed surgery for a leg fracture. Naomi offered to represent Laura if Jacob found out who ran her off the road.
Ashley talked about her new career and wondered if she had made a mistake as she was doubting her abilities. Derek told her to trust her gut and that she had all the knowledge she needed; she just needed to apply it. Jacob said he finally got a partner: Marcel Malone, and he was the most brilliant detective but arrogant. They looked across the table, and an exhausted Ashley had fallen asleep on Derek’s shoulder.
Derek took Ashley home and carried her to bed. She woke up and wondered how she got there. Ashley couldn’t believe she had complained about her job and then crashed. Derek assured her that she was adorable. Ashley pulled him into the bed with her and said she had just gotten her second wind.
Back at the bar, Naomi lamented that her dad traded in their relationship for the one he had with Hayley. Meanwhile, at Bill’s office, Hayley told Bill she would spend the night alone and wouldn’t see him until she walked down the aisle, for tradition. Bill said he also had something that was a tradition: a gift to his bride. Hayley opened a Tiffany’s box to find a sapphire and diamond bracelet. She said she loved it and him, and they kissed.
At the studio, Andre and Dani had drinks, and he flirted with her. He asked if it was working, and she looked at him with a new light. Andre looked at Dani’s old modeling photos on the wall and told her how she leaped right out from the frame. Dani said she felt powerful back then and hadn’t since. She added that she wasn’t done with her career, but she walked away for Bill.
Andre assured Dani that she was one of the sexiest women he’d ever laid eyes on. He asked her to dance and so they did but then started kissing. Andre told Dani that she should be honored, not tossed aside like she had been. He told her to put herself in his hands and forget about Bill for one night. He told her to remind herself that she was still the person in the photos and to enjoy herself, even if it was for one night. Dani led Andre to the bedroom, undressed him, and pushed him onto the bed.
