Here's what went down Wednesday, April 23, 2025 on Beyond the Gates when Doug won and lost a fortune the same day, Chelsea throupled, and Eva blew up at Leslie.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, “Sherry” informed Nicole that she was leaving town — for good. “Sherry” lauded Nicole for turning her life around that night she tried to “commit suicide” on the hospital roof and declared that she now had a purpose she had to see through. Nicole was curious what that purpose was, but “Sherry” would only say goodbye and that she was going to get what she wanted from then on. Nicole carefully asked into why “Sherry” had gotten fired the night of Nicole's gala.
While working out guest list details with Ted, Eva spotted Leslie talking to Nicole in the lobby. Eva tried to keep Ted from leaving their table by pretending to take a phone call and asking him to wait, but he arose anyway. Eva followed him hurriedly but only found the Richardsons in the lobby, where they asked Eva to handle more party details. Ted said that he'd noticed Nicole talking to someone; Nicole simply replied that it had been a former patient.
After Nicole released Eva for the day, she cheekily said that it seemed like Ted and Eva had been conspiring – and reminded her husband that she didn't like surprises. Ted deflected, then circled back to his earlier suggestion of scrapping the big anniversary shindig and having a private celebration. He wanted them to take off to the tropics, which Nicole found funny after all the party prep they had done. Ted noted that it had been too long since they had done something spontaneous, causing Nicole to wonder if Ted had bad feelings about the event.
Ted denied having any sort of premonition; he just wanted Nicole to himself and recalled how he'd nearly lost her years before. He swore he'd never taken her for granted since and considered her his universe; he was madly in love with her. Nicole concurred, but was of the opinion that there would be time to travel after the party, and that they were committed to whatever that night had in store.
Leslie arrived home and mocked Nicole, asking her about her purpose...then vowed to the ether that Nicole would discover Leslie's purpose soon. After she changed out of her “Sherry” duds, Leslie greeted the returning Eva and predicted they were about to rock Nicole's world. Eva was angry and demanded to know why Leslie had been at the club after Eva had told her to leave. Leslie didn't like Eva's tone and claimed she'd done what Eva asked. But Eva fumed that it was one thing for Leslie to lie to Mona, or Ted, or anyone else on the outside – but Leslie wasn't supposed to lie to Eva.
Ms. Thomas snapped that she would just stay in the apartment from then on and watch her stories. Eva screamed that her mother was a pathological liar and she had seen Leslie with Nicole. Turning dark, Leslie seethed, “How in the name of all that's holy dare you talk to me like that?”
Joey sat down at Vanessa's table at Uptown, saying that their house-finding journey almost being over had left him a bit sad. The casino owner hoped to expand his relationship with the realtor — he wanted to learn more about Vanessa's business. Vanessa offered private lessons; Joey suggested a more hands-on approach. Putting aside the flirting, Joey proposed going into partnership with Vanessa regarding a commercial property. Vanessa conveyed both interest and innuendo, to which Joey responded.
At Orphey Gene's, Doug ran into Andre, who thought Doug's hand injury could be the subject of a subsequent documentary: how doctors dealt with adversity. Doug didn't want to be followed around with a camera, however, and Andre sympathized, knowing he'd be lost if he couldn't take photos. Doug revealed he'd be wearing his cast for several weeks and couldn't stop thinking about getting back to work in the OR. He called himself an adrenaline junkie and extolled the rush he got from surgery. Doug then thought back to Joey pressuring him to make good on his debt, and agreed with Andre that he couldn't wait for his wrist to heal.
As Andre readied to leave, he noticed a lottery scratcher on the floor that he thought Doug had dropped. Doug hadn't, but Andre gave the ticket to him, feeling he was due for some luck. And Doug got it — he won $50,000. He called Randy, who thought Doug was going to use his winnings to make a healthy dent in what he owed Joey...but Doug intended to put it all on a horse race. Randy observed that people naturally lost more than they won; however, Doug wanted a bookie who wasn't Joey and asked Randy to hook him up. Later, Randy saw an incoming call from Doug and sent it to voicemail.
Finally, Randy spoke to an eager Doug, who couldn't wait to hear the race results. Randy glumly told Doug that his pick had come in last, which flattened Doug. The surgeon hung up on his friend. Doug, now also at Uptown, spotted Vanessa and Joey making eyes at each other. Afterwards, the McBrides seemed to be in a hotel room making hot, passionate love.
Derek and Ashley had differing views on how to spend their mutual day off: he wanted to enjoy the sunshine, and she wanted to relax at home. Ashley took a magazine relationship quiz and asked Derek some of its questions, but Derek felt that they were already compatible and didn't need a test, a test on which the couple consistently gave mismatched answers. Ultimately, though, they were scored as “mortgage material,” and Derek defined them as an 80-year mortgage. They capped their test by falling into bed.
Chelsea was stunned that Dani, while flattered, didn't want to come on board as ChelseaKat's head of marketing. Dani explained that, while the end of their mother-daughter business relationship had stung (and that she had spun out to an extent because of it), she was ready to bounce back on her own. Chelsea gently remarked that the family had heard such resolve from Dani before, only for Dani to regress. The former model waged that Dani providing the new company and herself stability at the same time in the role was a win-win.
Dani was moved and promised her daughter that her refusal had nothing to do with any secret plots against Bill and Hayley — it was that Pamela desired to open a modeling agency with her. Chelsea loved the idea; Dani confessed that she'd held off because deep down she was hoping an opportunity to work with Chelsea would come up, as it had. But Dani realized she was accustomed to teaming with Chelsea, and that what she really needed was uncharted success on her own terms, not just “Chelsea/Dani 2.0.” Dani longed to reconnect with who she'd been before she'd met Bill.
Chelsea and Dani were thrilled for each other, and Dani conceded that she'd been hard on Chelsea in the past, though she reasoned it had helped teach discipline. Now they were ready to find out who they were without each other. Chelsea admitted she'd miss working with Dani, while Dani considered herself on the way to being better. She invited Chelsea to be her toughest critic and scrape her off the ceiling again if she required it.
As Chelsea told Kat over the phone, she needed to unwind after her conversation with Dani, so she met up with the man and woman with whom she was in a throuple. The woman, Allison, heavily came on to Chelsea, which her husband was into, and the threesome decided to “level up” elsewhere.
Pamela was overjoyed that Dani had finally decided to go into business with her, and Dani proclaimed that, not only were they going to “kick ass and take names,” they were going to redefine the modeling agency as a vocation. The happy but flustered Pamela fussed over everything they'd need to do to get started – business plans, location, company manifesto – but Dani grinned that those paled in comparison to what they had to do right there and then: a photo session, which Andre came over to conduct.
While Pamela enjoyed mugging for the camera, she was surprised that Dani had wanted publicity shots for a company that didn't technically exist yet. Dani invoked the fake-it-'til-you-make-it policy and felt that the images would alert the public to what they could expect from their agency. Ms. Dupree called for costume and hair changes for further snaps and enjoyed that she was once again a boss.
