On Beyond the Gates, Anita got ambushed at Uptown's karaoke night when her family encouraged her to sing. Anita worried that her voice was no longer up to par, but she, Naomi, and Dani gave a stellar performance. Vernon had Anita consult a talent agent who wanted to get her back on stage professionally; though Mrs. Dupree initially scoffed at the offer, she agreed to consider it.

Samantha spotted Tyrell talking to Jessica and all but had them married; though Tyrell denied they were an item, Martin still wanted to invite Jessica to dinner. After Tyrell explained how Jessica had stood up for him and called him brave for bearing the cyberbullying over his underwear pic, Martin decided that Jessica had good taste. Despite mismatched answers on a compatibility test, Derek clumsily suggested that he and Ashley live together; she consented. Chelsea again participated in her throuple. Jacob recruited Naomi to help in the case of a homeless woman who had assaulted a social worker.

Dani and Andre had a racy evening, with Dani taking naughty pictures of Andre with his camera. They wondered if the time was coming to go public with their relationship. Chelsea remained resistant to bringing Dani on as ChelseaKat's marketing manager, but once Samantha and Kat convinced Chelsea it was a good idea, Chelsea approached her mom. Dani graciously turned down Chelsea's offer in favor of starting the modeling agency Pamela suggested, wanting to do her own thing.

Bill was sad when Hayley turned out not to be pregnant, but she said they could still have a child together if he wanted to. Bill ran into conflict with Naomi, who wouldn't run interference for him with Chelsea and also Martin; Bill again implied that he knew something untoward about the congressman. Bill tasked Tomás with spying on the review board set up by Mike's sexual harassment victims and got an earful about how much they wanted to change Bill's company. Bill's hand began shaking again, which Tomás noticed; Bill demanded secrecy, not wanting to appear compromised.

Joey saw that Doug could no longer make money performing surgery and called in his gambling marker. Doug happened upon a lottery scratch-off and won $50,000, but immediately lost it trying to parlay his winnings into enough to pay Joey back on a horse race. Doug whisked Vanessa to a hotel room for some steamy lovemaking after he saw Joey and Vanessa flirting; Vanessa responded, having spoken to Nicole about reaching out to her estranged husband. Still unsatisfied, Vanessa called an escort service only to learn it was owned by Joey, who came on even stronger. Doug confessed his gambling addiction to Nicole but wouldn't join a support group; on Nicole's advice, he began to tell Vanessa about his problem.

Leslie dressed up as “Sherry” for a “farewell” chat with Nicole; Eva incurred Leslie's dark wrath after flaming her mom for risking their plan. Upon hearing how daughter Naomi had sued father Bill, Eva confided to Tomás about her lonely childhood and how much she still wanted a dad. Kat pounced when Tomás shared this information with her and tracked Eva to her apartment, pretending a desire to call a truce. But when Leslie arrived, Kat realized that “Anna” – the “family friend” who had confronted Kat – and Leslie were the same person. Ted wanted to shelve the anniversary party and fly Nicole off to the tropics, while Nicole promised to find out how Laura had wound up with so much heart-attack-inducing potassium in her system.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount Plus, but will be pre-empted Tuesday, April 29, and Wednesday, April 30 for UEFA soccer.
