On Beyond the Gates, Arielle Prepetit’s Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne is the boss daughter of Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) and Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett). Naomi appears to be doing quite well for herself professionally, and as far as her marriage goes with her spouse, Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges), half of her personal life is going great. However, the other half of her personal life is a hot mess involving an ex-best friend, Hayley (Marquita Goings), and her father, Bill. Naomi is absolutely, and rightfully, beyond disappointed and hurt by her father, which she outwardly lets be known through anger. This past week, however, Naomi rose to the challenge when asked to represent three former employees of The Law Offices of Bill Hamilton, Esquire.
Naomi’s got the nerve on Beyond the Gates

Hesitant at first, Naomi decided to go ahead and represent the women against one of Bill’s associates, Mike (Pierce Lackey), as well as the firm for unlawful termination due to the harassment claims. Although both Hayley and Bill accused Naomi of taking this chance due to her wanting to make Bill pay for cheating on Dani, Naomi seems resolute in her determination to represent the women for their treatment at the firm and past allegations of harassment against Mike.
Prepetit does an excellent job of showing Naomi put on a brave face, even when in doubt. And, when Naomi confronts Bill at his office as he is served, she stands her ground and doesn’t back down when her dad tries to berate her. The resolution and downright badassery that you see in Naomi’s demeanor and eyes are well-crafted by Prepetit and show that the character is able to stand on her own. Naomi moved away from Fairmont Crest and opened her own law firm to make a name for herself outside of her family’s money, influence, and infamy.
Win or lose, Naomi has shown courage, grace ('cause who wouldn't have stomped Hayley by now?!), strength, and resilience in spite of all that life has thrown at her recently and is even offering to help others despite her family's current status as messed-up. Kudos to Prepetit for encapsulating such a well-rounded character and bringing her to life and our screens.
