On Beyond the Gates, Arielle Prepetit is our Performer of the Week. Her character Naomi has been through the ringer this week with highs and lows and delivered standout performances in each.
Naomi on Beyond the Gates
Naomi decided to make a name for herself, right some workplace wrongs, and stick it to her father for leaving her mom in what “Team Dani” perceived as being one of hurt, betrayal, and lies. This week, Naomi decided to go head to head against her father and represent three ladies wrongfully dismissed from Bill Hamilton Esq.'s law firm. One lawsuit is for sexual harassment in the workplace against Mike, who is one of Bill’s partners at the law firm. The other is one of having an unsafe workplace, and this one is brought against the firm itself. While this will be a landmark case for Naomi, she knows that her father has a reputation for being untouchable and unbeatable for a reason. He plays to win by any means.
Arielle showed her resilience and delivered strong performances when she arrived for a client and counsel meeting at Bill’s offices and found that the meeting was underway without her. Bill explained everything that could go wrong for the ladies if they proceeded against him in court. Naomi, knowing this was some Bill Hamilton trickery, called the meeting over. But the damage was done, and the ladies told Naomi that it was time to settle, and they felt they couldn't win in court and would lose so much. Naomi convinced them to give it a shot, telling them she would be relentless in pursuit of justice.
Bill, of course, had plenty more tricks in the book, and the good old Bill Hamilton charm was also great to use. At the next client meeting, Naomi arrived early to avoid the last situation and attempted to threaten her dad with being disbarred. Still, Bill brushed it off and said it must have been his office assistant's fault for the scheduling error. Naomi then had to deal with an amazing settlement offer, and seeing the three ladies going crazy for the offer kept her composure. She found it was riddled with loopholes and pulled the pin on the offer. Then we got to see the softer side of Naomi. Bill got angry and told his daughter she needed to listen to him, and then his hand went numb. Naomi, now worried about her dad's health, came close to dialing 911 as she thought he might be about to have a heart attack. A full range on display and delivered with perfection, and that's why, Arielle, you are our Performer of the Week.
