Beyond the Gates just added a second big dramatic moment. On our first introduction to Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant), she seemed shaken at the sight of Dr. Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson) at the hospital. By the time she got home, her conversation with Eva (Ambyr Michelle) divulged some sort of revenge plot. Eva told Leslie (who we think is her mom?) that she knew what had happened to Leslie all those years ago and that she was “all in.”

It's this writer's opinion (and theory) that Leslie ran Laura off the road so that her daughter Eva could replace Laura as Nicole's assistant, and that would lead to getting close to both Nicole and Ted. Character notes say Ted sleeps well at night because “he knows his past cannot unravel his perfect existence.” Well, as the Bard says, “herein lies the rub” — and its name is Leslie.

User Joncharmed93 wrote, “I figured as much. Leslie ran Laura off the road so Mona would be forced to hire her daughter Eva. Leslie feels pretty similar to Sheila Carter, like she used to be in the 90's, very calculative. I wonder when we will learn more about her motives and why she wants to be close to the Dupree family.”

CashierJudy said, “We saw the look she gave Ted, Nicole's husband, the other day. That seems to be where the venom is at. And we saw Eva telling Leslie that they would get revenge or something similar. So I'm guessing Leslie almost killed poor Laura so that her daughter Eva can work for Nicole and get into Nicole and Ted's personal business. Clearly they want revenge for something. I'm going to bet that Nicole is not aware of whatever happened with Ted and Leslie. What I wonder is will Leslie tell her daughter that she caused the accident? And will they celebrate over it? In other words is Eva as crazy as her mother?”

MrsValentine added, “Leslie is a complete villain! She has absolutely no qualms about nearly killing sweet Laura. She’s certifiable! Leslie said she was a widow (right?). Could Ted have been her husband’s doctor and he died and she and her daughter blame him for the death? Whatever their beef is it’s very personal and affects them both.

This drama is far more exciting than the one about Dani and Bill and the cheating scandal; this one involves plots and backstory and foreshadowing and all the good elements of a mystery. Beyond the Gates just got more exciting. Is Eva the daughter of Ted and Leslie? There is a chance that she is adopted, and Leslie can't have children of her own due to something Dr. Ted did. Maybe her daughter by birth is the one she is grieving. Or will we discover that the reknown plastic surgeon was more than inappropriate once upon a time. So many possibilities.”
