On Beyond the Gates, Bill's partner at his law firm, is the reason sexual harassment and unsafe work environment charges are being laid against the firm. Bill protects the firm by firing Mike Davis.
It’s time to say goodbye to Mike on Beyond the Gates

Mike is known for being a lout and his careless ways have caused three women to be fired from Bill Hamilton's (Timon Kyle Duprett) law firm. Initially these ladies were being represented by none other than Bill’s daughter, Naomi (Arielle Prepetit). This was heralded as being the lawsuit of lawsuits and a courtroom battle for the ages. This was going to be Beyond the Gates' answer to A few Good Men’s scene with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson, ok maybe not that grandeur, but up there with Denny Crane and Alan Shore from Boston Legal. We were very much looking forward to seeing the battle between father and daughter as one fights for his firm and reputation and the other fights for the injustice of the three women who were wrongfully dismissed but also how her mother was wrongfully dismissed by Bill.
Now that Naomi has removed herself from the case by recusing herself as lead counsel, Bill, still facing a court date and an impending trial decides to clean house and makes a start by firing Mike (Pierce Lackey).
Mike appeared in Bill’s office over the moon that Naomi wasn't going to be opposing counsel anymore. This was the best news for Mike, as now the full weight and power of Bill Hamilton Esq. could be brought to bear against whichever poor schmuck would now represent the discarded women. Without the risk of hurting Bill’s daughter he was free to destroy the case in court by any means necessary. So why wasn't Bill smirking and whooping it up with Mike?
Save the buddy stuff for the golf course Mike

When Mike said they could now begin making preparations and Bill said he intended to start right then, Mike's face fell off a cliff. Bill told Mike that he was fired and when Mike tried to talk his way through it, Bill told him to leave that type of chat for the golf course. This wasn’t personal, it was business. But Bill let Mike know in no uncertain terms that the firm may be doing this, but it was his call. Have your eagle eyes caught the scenes that rush by at the end of the episode? Some of them are old but at least two of them are yet to be. One such scene shows Bill with his hands grabbing Mike's lapels and shoving him against the wall. Bill looks furious! My prediction, Mike is going to mouth off to Bill and he’s going to need to be shown the door by force.

Speaking of being a force, Timon Kyle Durett stands at 1.95m which is over six foot four. He’s almost Jack Reacher big, guys and gals. No wonder he literally towers over every other member of the cast. That certainly puts things into perspective.
