Are Ashley and Andre about to be the next hot couple on Beyond the Gates ?

On Beyond the Gates, we are introduced to Ashley and her boyfriend, the fearless firefighter Derek Baldwin. But is newcomer Andre about to break this happy couple up and steal the girl?

Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) is the new nurse at Garland Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C. She has already endeared herself with fans as being wonderfully caring and a true friend to those around her. Derek, while being a firefighter and every bit the man's man, is now feeling the heat at home. What could get the unflappable Derek hot under the collar? The temperature rises every time Ashley and Andre are in a scene together for one.

Someone call 9-1-1 — This scene is fire on Beyond the Gates

Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) has put his time and money into being a photographer after losing his parents in a tragic accident when he was young. Ted (Maurice Johnson) and Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix) took him in and became his parental figures. Since laying eyes on young Ashley, he has developed a crush on her. Andre flirts shamelessly with Ashley, who’s not unreceptive to it; her coy smiles and body language suggest she is most assuredly vibing with Andre. Nicole warned Andre that “Ashley doesn't do casual,” which made Andre pause and then, with a determined look on his face, acknowledge the remark. His playboy reputation precedes him. Nicole reminded him that his attention span with women was limited.

Ashley, Andre, Derek, and 50 First Dates

Recall the 2004 film 50 First Dates. Playboy Henry sets his heart on romancing Lucy, but she has short-term memory loss; she can't remember anything that happened the day before. So, every morning, Henry has to woo her again. Now on Beyond the Gates, Derek has had a head injury after a ceiling collapse in a burning building and is showing signs of a concussion and memory loss. Can Andre take advantage of this while Derek is...how do we say...impaired? The Chemistry in their scenes is undeniable; fans love seeing them together. While being a “good guy” and loyal, Derek is not the most exciting man. There is a way of telling your girlfriend's potential suitor to step back and you know what he’s doing, but Derek has done none of this. (Guys, you know what I’m talking about, LOL.)

His actions have made him appear the jealous, insecure type women hate. He could very well just push Andre into Ashley's arms. Beyond the Gates is, after all, a soap opera, and they depend and thrive upon delivering drama. So, are we witnessing the demise of Ashley and Derek's relationship?
