On the Beyond the Gates episode on Friday, February 28, 2025, we learn more about Leslie and Eva, Dani tries to get Bill back, and then aims to please herself.

Nicole interviewed and hired Eva as her assistant to replace Laura temporarily. Eva told Nicole that Leslie was her surrogate mom as her real mom had died when she was young and that Leslie was best friends with Mona. Nicole updated Eva on all aspects of the wedding and other items she would hear about being her new personal assistant.

Afterwards, Eva returned home and excitedly said,” Mom! I mean, ‘Leslie,’ you won’t believe how easy that was! Nicole honestly doesn’t believe her world will go off script — that’s how privileged she is. She has no idea who we are!” Leslie was ecstatic that Eva had gotten the job and relayed that this was the day she had dreamt of: “You’re finally going to be where you should have been all along — in your father’s house.”

A happy and joyous occassion

After spending a hot night in a cold town with Andre, Dani booted him out of her bed and then went to see Bill one last time before he got married. Dani tried to get Bill to remember that they had loved each other deeply and begged him to come back, promising she would make it all work again for them. Bill talked about the first time he had seen Dani. She was strong and fierce and full of pride, and she was now full of desperation. Dani looked like she’d sucked a lemon and spat, ”Whatever I am in this moment that pains you, you made me!”

Bill told her that he was not going to own her behavior; she was grown and responsible for herself and not to mention a Dupree, which was supposedly a superior being who should be able to control herself with more dignity and restraint, instead of physically assaulting people and refusing to let go of what is no longer her. “Here’s the reality, Dani: Hayley is going to be my wife, and it can’t happen soon enough,” Bill stung. Bill told Dani that if she truly wanted to honor what they once had, she needed to show some grace and be the bigger person, accept their marriage was over, and he’d moved on with Hayley. Dani told him to stop talking, and she marched out. We took that as a hard no.

Wedding bells, or is that gunfire

Later at the wedding, Vernon told Bill that he’d honored his request to have wedding guests, but that would be the last thing the Duprees did for him. Bill was not impressed that they had all turned out wearing black. Dani made sure to tell Bill that she did not wish him or his whore well and threw her drink into Bills face. Bill tried to thank his daughters for coming to his wedding, but both walked away. Nicole tried to reason with her sister to accept that Bill was getting married, but Dani said she would not let this go until Bill had suffered.

Bill had had enough and went to Martin and told him he wanted their relationship to continue as he still had value and believed in favors. Martin caught on to Bill’s undertone. Bill apologised if he was “coming on too strong” and said he didn't want to be “accused of…overkill.” Martin froze at the word. Bill advised Martin to warn his parents not to freeze him out.

The ceremony started, and at the part when the minister asked if anyone objected, Dani most certainly did. She pulled a gun from her purse, walked up to the altar, and fired.
