Laura didn't turn up to work after being run off the road; her accident has left her with a fractured leg requiring surgery. Mona took a call from Nicole's home office, but it wasn't Laura. Instead, it was Leslie. Mona told Nicole that she was concerned about Laura. Then Ted called and told them that he was with Laura at the hospital and that she had been injured. Nicole left to go to the hospital, and Mona called Leslie to tell her what had happened. She wondered who could have wanted to hurt Laura. Leslie, as we know, has an ulterior motive as she was the one who likely ran Laura off the road. Leslie suggested to Mona that her daughter Eva could take Laura's place temporarily. She added that Eva had computer skills and that being around Nicole would be advantageous. Mona was excited at this and asked Leslie to get Eva to call her. At the hospital, the prognosis was an expected recovery in six to eight weeks. After Laura detailed how it happened, Ted and Nicole both thought that the accident sounded like attempted murder. Ted arranged to have Laura transferred to his clinic, where she could recover for free, and he’d cover the required surgery. Ted also called Naomi’s husband Jacob, who was a robbery and homicide detective.

Sins of the father

Naomi was out at the park and had just spoken to Ashley on a video call, confirming plans for later when her father appeared. Bill said that he’d managed to track her down as he needed to talk to her. Bill said that he wanted to get her respect back. He explained that people fall out of love, and sometimes staying in a loveless marriage is not the right option. Naomi said she was not interested in fixing anything with him, and stated, “As far as I’m concerned, my father is dead!” Naomi then said some comments that Bill described as very hurtful, including, “You are the book's oldest, most disgusting cliche!” Naomi reminded Bill that he came wanting to talk; she didn’t seek him out, and if he didn't like what he was hearing, he could just go, which Bill promptly did.

Dani gets over a man by getting under a man

True to form, Dani turned up at her daughter's modelling shoot and, upset at the world, asserted her authority over the shoot, acting on her rights as manager to direct, change, and control. Feeling like everything else was out of her power and angry at her life, Dani kept interrupting and was a complete fun sponge. Andre just wanted to get the photo shoot done, but he couldn’t if the model was in tears, so he decided then and there that the only path to achievement was by asking Dani to be a spectator and not involve herself. After the shoot, Dani told Chelsea she did a great job, and Chelsea was delighted. At Dani’s invitation, Andre stayed behind after the shoot to have drinks. He and Dani danced, drank, flirted, and, after establishing they weren’t actually related, ended up in her bedroom.
