Posted Monday, September 4th, 2000 11:21:22 AM

If you're a soap opera fan who has ever lost themselves in their favorite soap or someone who finds it amusing to watch someone else get confused between reality and fiction, there's a new movie that you'll want to check out.

"Nurse Betty" revolves around a character's unhappy marriage and her fascination with a popular soap opera, "A Reason to Love." One night while trying to watch "A Reason to Live," Betty (Rene Zellweger) witnesses her husband doing some shady business with a hit man named Charlie (Morgan Freeman) and his excitable protg Wesley (Chris Rock). The deal goes awry and Betty's husband, Del (Aaron Eckhart), is violently dispatched.

The incident sends Betty into an altered state of mind. To keep herself going. Betty Sizemore becomes "Nurse Betty" with plans to return to the love of her life, Dr. Ravell (Greg Kinnear)--- a character from her soap. Betty sets out to find the fictional soap character in a 1997 Buick LeSabre. What Betty doesn't know is that her husband's killers are looking for the car. They, in turn, set off after Betty, followed by a gaggle of local authorities investigation Dels' murder and Betty's sudden disappearance.

The USA Films feature-length film, "Nurse Betty" opens in theaters nationwide on September 8th. "Nurse Betty" stars Rene Zellweger, Morgan Freeman, Chris Rock, Greg Kinnear and Aaron Eckhart.
