Zombieverse kicked off an engaging second season on Netflix on November 19 and welcomed a few new survivors to tackle the "zombie apocalypse" along with the old and returning cast. The second season starts with a new group of survivors brought on the Jeju Island, a zombie haven, which does not remain safe soon after they navigate the place.
Episode 2 opened with the new cast finding a way out of the temporary quarantine facility where the zombie outbreak occurred. The six survivors were challenged by being stuck in a closed space where the only way to survive was to hide inside a cabinet. However, there was a catch as the key box was difficult to find and the time was ticking when the zombies attacked the place.
On the other hand, the old cast members were trying to escape the net tap outside the facility and make it out safely. Following a series of hurdles and zombie attacks, both teams manage to unite and escape the temporary quarantine facility by destroying the zombies and making it to Si-Young and Dex's lodge, where they meet Patricia, and decide their plan.
Zombieverse survivors find a way to escape while leaving Andre and Patricia behind
The survivors regrouped at a burger joint in episode 2 of Zombieverse to discuss how to escape the zombie-attacked island and reach the mainland. At this point, there were 12 evacuees including Patricia who waited for the rest of the evacuees to meet her at the burger joint. The old and the new cast appeared a little cautious about trusting each other as they worked for the first time with each other.
One of the evacuees is a Deputy Assistant, and he suggested that the provincial office is the safest place to be. The group discussed how to set up a communication and reach the provincial office. They found a radio at the joint and after trying various frequencies, they were able to get to the one broadcasting the information about the rescue helicopters.
There were rescue helicopters out in the air to airlift the trapped people in Jeju Island. The evacuees noted the coordinates and found out the place of rescue with the help of the map present in the burger joint. They took the ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) and reached the rescue point as figured out by them. Shortly, they saw a rescue helicopter coming and they had a sigh of relief.
However, the challenge in Zombieverse was not over for the survivors in the Zombieverse as the helicopter was not capable of carrying all 12 people because of its load capacity. The helicopter was not able to take off when all of them rushed into the helicopter. The instructor asked the survivors to decide between themselves who would wait for another rescue helicopter.
After a long deliberation, Andre, the chef, took the plunge and decided to stay while the others made their way to the mainland. One more person needed to stay as the helicopter was still overloaded. Andre asked Patricia to come out of the helicopter and stay with him as the rest of them evacuated the place.
Patricia and Andre stood there as the helicopter took off. However, shortly the place was attacked by the zombies. The episode ended at a cliffhanger as the audience could not witness what happened to Andre and Patricia in Zombieverse.
