Apple TV+'s latest drama series, Your Friends & Neighbors, premiered on the platform on April 11, 2024.

The Jon Hamm starrer series follows a divorced man who after being fired from his job learns about his dwindling financials and takes the drastic step to steal from his rich neighbors. The location of the series plays an important role in the narrative as it showcases the opulence of the neighborhood. The show is mostly filmed in and around the Hudson Valley, and New York City.

Jonathan Tropper created Your Friends & Neighbors, which he has also co-produced with Hamm. The ensemble cast of drama series includes Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Hoon Lee, Lena Hall, Isabel Gravitt, Donovan Colan, and Mark Tallman among others.

The Apple TV+ series is set in the fictional town of Westmont Village, where we find Andrew Cooper’s (played by Jon Hamm) picturesque and serene, uber-rich suburban neighborhood. It was important to the makers of the show to find a location that would be home to the affluent residents and showcase their lavish lifestyles.

The production team of the show zeroed in on Hudson Valley, located in Westchester County, New York, which has beautiful contemporary architecture and lavish foliage. From the large estates to charming marketplaces, the backdrops for the show were carefully scouted for.

The principal photography for the show started in April 2024. The golfing scenes were shot in the famous Woodlea mansion in Briarcliff Manor, which serves as a Country Club. The location is an ideal backdrop because of its greenery and quaint setting.

Some of the outdoor shooting locations also included the coastal city of Rye, known for its chic and conventional architecture. To show Cooper’s high-profile job life as a hedge fund manager, the Upper Manhattan in New York City was used. The streets of Queens, the Bronx, and New Jersey were also part of the show to indicate his fast-paced life.

What is Your Friends & Neighbors about?

The series follows recently divorced father Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper, a hedge fund manager who is suddenly fired from his job. When he takes an account of his financials, he realizes that he will not be able to sustain his extravagant lifestyle that he was used to. He takes the impulsive decision to start robbing his neighbors in the rich neighborhood in Westmont Village. As things start to spiral out of control, Cooper must reevaluate his choices.
