More about Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Created by Jeff Trammell, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man stars Hudson Thames, known for What If...?, as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. According to the synopsis on MCU Wiki,
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.”
The first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is the twelfth installment of MCU's Phase Five. Since this is a fresh take on the Spider-Man story, Thames expressed his concern over the show being perceived as "annoying and woke", saying,
“annoying and woke”
further adding,
“I thought it was awesome. I mean, my biggest fear was that it was gonna be annoying and woke, and it wasn’t, and I was like, ‘Yes, this is great, it’s so well written,’ like it feels real. I’m the oldest of five boys, so I feel like I kind of know what’s happening in their lives and in high school, and it felt like it was doing that justice.”
Besides Thames, the 10-episode series also features the voices of Colman Domingo, Grace Song, Hugh Dancy, Eugene Byrd, Charlie Cox, and Zeno Robinson. Mel Zwyer serves as the supervising director, and Brad Winderbaum, Louis D’Esposito, Kevin Feige, Jeff Trammell, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt serve as executive producers.
The first two episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man can be streamed on Disney+, and new episodes will be dropping weekly on Wednesdays.
