Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary has recently shared a post on Instagram talking about success and money. He aims to educate the viewers about the drive for money versus the greed for it. According to him, oftentimes, people are after money but that will never get them rich as material wealth is never enough.
Navigating their mindset, Kevin says that every individual should instead be driven about having time for themselves. It is what "personal freedom" is to him. Kevin often takes to his personal social media accounts to make motivational posts. He is also involved in personal and geopolitical discussions.
Kevin has been an investor in Shark Tank for a long time and is known for his brutal honesty and smart business deals. Recently, he had been in talks to buy TikTok with Frank McCourt after the app said they were going dark with their algorithm.
Talking about money, Kevin shared,
"Pursuing money for the sake of having it, you'll never get there. That's the trouble, you never have enough. But in life, you don't need that much."

Shark Tank's Kevin then proceeded to make a point to differentiate between the "pursuit of money" and "greed." According to him, individuals who chase money will end up getting none of it because that is what greed is.
He says they should instead be focused on having ample time that will ultimately provide them with "personal freedom" and that is the "definition of success" to him.
Talking about the same, Kevin explained,
"If you're an entrepreneur, it's not about the pursuit of money. That's greed. Nothing to do with it. It's the pursuit of personal freedom. You wanna pursue personal freedom to have control over your time later in life and provide for your family of course."
Kevin says that people get confused between flashy, materialistic things such as cars and diamonds and are after them for the brand's name. However, that is just "greed" and not actual success. Talking about financial freedom and how important it is, Kevin says,
"But it doesn't mean you have to have a flashy car, you have to be, you know, covered in diamonds. That's nothing to do with it. Having control of your own time, really, in my view, a definition of success. And you have to pursue that. And of course, it involves financial freedom, but not the greed of money."
Summarising his views in the caption of the post, he wrote,
"I believe that what makes someone an entrepreneur is a burning desire to be free. It’s not about the greed of money, it’s the pursuit of personal freedom. I don’t think you can teach that. It only shows up in about a third of the population."
Shark Tank's Kevin has shared a variety of posts like these, where he educates the viewers about what is important in their lives. One topic that he talks about the most is investing.
In one of his earlier videos on Instagram, Shark Tank's Kevin advised the viewers to start investing as early as possible and not in the savings account, but in ETFs and other markets. He also revealed how his kids didn't listen to him earlier when it came to their salaries, but they do now and have started investing.
Shark Tank airs on ABC every week on Fridays at 8 PM Eastern Time.
