In a dramatic turn of events on Netflix's Love Never Lies: Poland season 3, episode 5, aptly titled "Dramatic Exit," one couple's journey came to an abrupt end following a midnight rule violation.

When contestant Max sneaked into the Villa of Temptation to speak with his partner Eugene, he broke one of the show's cardinal rules. The next morning, host Maja Bohosiewicz delivered the inevitable news to a shocked Eugene:

"You came here as a couple, so unfortunately you need to suffer the consequences of his actions together. I'm so sorry. But unfortunately, you'll have to leave the show."

The Polish reality series tests couples by separating them into different villas, surrounding them with attractive singles, and subjecting them to lie detector tests about their feelings.

Love Never Lies's premise hinges on complete separation between partners until the finale—a rule Max couldn't resist breaking, effectively ending both contestants' time on the program before they had a chance to fully explore their relationship issues.

Love Never Lies: Poland’s Max breaks the rules at midnight

Max's decision to leave his villa in the middle of the night and enter the Villa of Temptation wasn't just a romantic gesture—it was a direct violation of the show's fundamental rules. Participants are strictly forbidden from contacting their partners during the experiment, a boundary designed to test their commitment and honesty while separated.

When host Maja arrived the following morning, she didn't mince words about the gravity of Max's actions. She informed Eugene that Max had broken "one of the most important rules" of the show by initiating contact before the designated finale meeting.

The rule exists for a reason—to maintain the integrity of the experiment that tests couples' loyalty when apart.

Eugene, who had no part in the rule-breaking, was visibly upset upon learning that his journey would end prematurely. In his confessional, highlighting the unexpected consequences of his partner's impulsive decision, he admitted:

"I had no idea that my journey in the show would end in this way"

Before they departed from Love Never Lies, Maja arranged a final conversation between Max and Eugene to address the issues that led to their current situation. When questioned about his actions, Max offered a simple explanation: love makes him crazy. It wasn't the most sophisticated defense, but it revealed the emotional turmoil driving his behavior.

The conversation quickly turned tense when Eugene confronted Max about his conduct in the Love Never Lies villa.

"We came on the show to make some changes," Eugene stated firmly.

Pointing specifically to an incident where Max was in bed with another contestant wearing only underwear:

"However, I noticed that Max was still the same"

Max defended himself, insisting they were "just hugging each other in the bed" and that he hadn't done anything wrong. He then flipped the script, questioning Eugene about being in bed with another contestant named Jacek, when Max had entered the villa.

Eugene's response was direct: everything he did was as a "single guy," a status he claimed to have established after first seeing Max with another man. He then revealed that his relationship with Jacek had been intimate, a confession that visibly hurt Max.

"I honestly thought that you were smarter than that," Max responded, unable to hide his disappointment.

Declaring firmly:

"I feel very hurt about that happening."

What did the lie detector test reveal?

In a pivotal moment on Love Never Lies, Maja revealed that both contestants had undergone EyeDetect tests before their final conversation. The results showed that despite their conflicts, both men still wanted to continue their relationship—and the detector confirmed both answers as truth.

Max's emotional response to the test results showed his vulnerability:

"I love him. I am ready to forgive. Because I've never loved anyone like him. And although I made many mistakes, I still have strength to fight for something and fix some things."

Eugene's response was more cautious but still affirmative.

"Yeah, of course I do [love him]," he admitted.

But he elaborated:

"However, I'm saying this just for today, and, well, I'm saying it for the last time. I'm giving him one more chance, and... We'll see."

This hesitant commitment revealed the fragility of their bond—Eugene was willing to try again, but with clear boundaries and limited patience for further disappointments.

As the couple departed the show, they left behind the controlled experiment of Love Never Lies: Poland to face their relationship challenges in the real world. Their exit serves as a reminder of the show's central theme: genuine love requires both honesty and respect for boundaries, something Max learned the hard way when his impulsive midnight visit cost them both their place in the competition.

The Season 3 finale of Love Never Lies: Poland premieres on Netflix on March 5.
