Shark Tank expert Daniel Lubetzky recently shared a very intimate and haunting story from his family's past in an Instagram video that was uploaded on his account on March 06. He recalled an incident from his early years in which his father told him about the atrocities he had witnessed during the Holocaust. He talked about when a man led his father to a cellar, pointed to a dead body, and stated,

"And he took him down to the basement, pointed him to a dead body. And they're there, that's a Jew. You can eat him."

As a guest shark on Shark Tank, Lubetzky is well-known to fans for his keen business sense and commitment to mission-driven companies. As the creator of KIND Snacks, he based his success on the virtues of honesty and compassion, which appear to have their roots in his family's past.

Lubetzky describes how this terrifying event affected both his father's and his own lives in the heartfelt reel. He considers the paradox of kindness displayed by a person with the capacity for extreme brutality and the lesson it left behind. His tale is a potent reminder of the human spirit's tenacity and the significance of even the tiniest deeds of kindness.

Shark Tank's Daniel Lubetzky opened up about his family struggles during the Holocaust

The well-known Shark Tank guest investor Daniel Lubetzky recently revealed a very intimate and moving story about his family's history. He recapped a terrifying incident from his father's early years during the Holocaust in an Instagram reel. The tale, which combines unspeakable brutality with an unanticipated gesture of charity, is a compelling meditation on survival, humanity, and the value of kindness during the most trying times.

The Shark Tank investor began the story: His father was a little boy when World War II broke out, and he grew up in Kovno, Lithuania. The war's atrocities swiftly spread around him, and he had to fight for his life every day.

He said, "He was in Kovno, Lithuania. The war started in 1939, somewhere around 1940 or 1941. The superintendent in their building told him, hey, are you hungry? Do you want a bite to eat? And my dad said, yes."

The building's superintendent once went up to the starving boy and inquired if he was hungry. His father enthusiastically accepted, and the stranger, who appeared to be offering assistance, took him to a basement. But instead of food, he pointed to a lifeless body and asked him to feed on his flesh. He further recalled an incident when the same German superintendent became the reason his family survived because of his father's kindness.

"If you extend your hand to the other and you are kind to people, you have the chance to transform those people to develop a modicum."

As the video came to an end, Shark Tank investor Daniel considered the unsettling fact that he was saved due to the generosity of a person who was, by all accounts, incredibly evil. Nonetheless, this encounter strengthens his conviction that people can change; even tiny deeds of kindness have the power to alter people and bring back our humanity. He feels that we must all work together to accomplish this.
