Rober Herjavec, an investor on Shark Tank, recently took to Instagram to motivate his audience and share the secrets of his success. In the video, he talks about the mindset that successful people have even when they don't have access to most of the resources that others might.
Robert is currently in the media light as he stars in Shark Tank. He is a lead shark where he invests in various business pitches that come on the show. He is currently the founder of The Herjavec Group which is an IT and computer security firm.
According to him, when he started in life, he had nothing. He hailed from a family of immigrants from Yugoslavia and had to start an entirely new life in a new nation. Talking to his Instagram followers about his journey, Robert said,
"When I put my hand on the stove and the ring is red and it hurts and I get burnt, I tend not to do it again. You don't have to be smart, but you have to be adaptable."
Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec's advice on becoming a billionaire
Robert talked about his journey on the video and shared that what brought him towards success was not in-built knowledge, but observance and mistakes. He made mistakes but he made sure to never do that again and learn from it. Talking about the same, Robert says,
"You don't have to be born outgoing, you don't have to have that built in you, you can be taught that, and you can teach that to yourself. Everything I've learned, I've learned by doing wrong. I'm not a very smart guy, I've never been the smartest guy in the tool shed, but I am very good."
Robert from Shark Tank also shared his upbringing. He talked about how he never thought from the beginning of being a "billionaire" or a "millionaire" for that matter.
He just wanted to improve his standard of living because he did not like what he had. This gave him purpose and according to him, everyone realizes their own thing from different angles based on personal experiences. Here is what Robert said;
"You know when I was 12 years old, all I knew was I didn't wanna be poor. I didn't have the concept of making a billion dollars or a million dollars, I just didn't wanna live like I lived. The point of it is, we all come to it from different perspectives."
