Yellowstone finally aired its season 5 part 2 finale on December 15, 2024, and while the Dutton family saga has reached its conclusion with this final episode, fans have no reason to be upset. Besides a couple of spin-offs already in the works, another fresh new spin-off focusing on Rip and Beth (Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser), has been reported by Deadline.
Helmed by Taylor Sheridan, this proposed series will apparently be sharing the most similar traits to the OG Yellowstone universe. While no concrete information has been given out regarding the series, it is likely to retain some of the original cast members as well, besides Beth and Rip.
Let us now look at all the details about this new Yellowstone spin-off that is very likely to pick up the story after the incidents of the season 5 finale.
Is a Yellowstone spin-off with Rip and Beth happening?
Rumors and reports are swirling about a potential Yellowstone spin-off centered on fan-favorite characters Rip and Beth. Speculation suggests that this could be the only spin-off in the Yellowstone universe to carry the iconic name in its title. However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the project.
Focusing on Beth and Rip, the series is reported to have Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their role as the leads. Talking to People about what’s next for the Yellowstone franchise, Cole Hauser said,
“I think America has spoken. They still love the show. There’s obviously just tons of people that every Sunday get together with their families, and we give them the experience of taking ’em out of their own living rooms and putting ’em in Montana and entertaining them. And I think ultimately it’s just that simple.”
However, despite Deadline reporting that Hauser and Riley have already signed a deal to reprise their Yellowstone roles in this newly announced spin-off, Hauser played rather innocent when asked about the same, saying,
We will see what happens over the next year or so and we’ll see what’s next. Hopefully, we can continue to get in people’s living rooms and entertain them the way we have over the last seven years.”
Kelly Reilly, who is reported to be reprising her role as the iconic Beth in the spin-off also chose not to talk anything about this project. In an Instagram post, she wrote,
“Hi, I’m so deep into another role at the moment about another land worth fighting for in the UK .. but across the pond the finale is happening tonight of the show.”
She also mentioned that no matter what comes ahead, this finale indeed marks the end of Yellowstone they have been a part of for 7 long years. In the same post, she thanked Taylor Sheridan for giving her the chance to portray Beth and also thanked the viewers who loved them so much.
More on the Yellowstone spin-off with Beth and Rip
While no more concrete details are available on this spin-off right now, as per Deadline, this new show reportedly will be focusing on
“what happens next for the characters in the hugely popular drama series who are still alive.”
Since initially there were rumors of Yellowstone Season 6 happening with Beth and Rip leading the season since John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) death, it seems that the season idea has reportedly transformed into a separate spin-off.
With another spin-off of Yellowstone, titled Madison expected to air in 2025 and another spin-off 1923 Season 2 set to premiere on February 23, 2025, Yellowstone fans have a lot of reasons to rejoice.
Yellowstone can be streamed on Paramount+.
