Yellowstone is finally heading for its finale and the penultimate episode, titled, Give the World Away, surprisingly does not kill any character and rather adds one. Bella Hadid is the latest inclusion to the show and she puts a “for sale” sign on anything and everything that is not a house, a barn, or Carter and Lloyd.

Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13 leaves a lot of ground and it is clear from this episode that the final episode of the show will have a lot to answer. The episode previous to this saw Colby’s death, an event that felt more like a filler. However, in terms of storyline, Give the World Away did make significant progress.

With the Duttons at their lowest in Yellowstone Season 5 and becoming desperate to save whatever they own, let us now look at the Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13 ending in detail.

What happens to Beth in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13?

In Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 10, Beth is seen taking a trip to Texas at the Bosque Ranch to meet Travis Wheatley (Taylor Sheridan) to ask him to sell their horses. She is greeted there by his girlfriend Sadie (Hadid).

After messing for a while with Beth, Travis confirms that he would of course help the Duttons. Later, Rip (Cole Hauser), Beth’s husband tells her about what a great man Travis is by describing how once in the past Travis had fought off a whole bar full of people on his own.

Colby’s funeral is arranged in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13

Teeter’s character is back at the ranch in Yellowstone from 6666 to attend her boyfriend Colby’s funeral, who was tragically killed by a wild horse in the previous episode. To console her, Walker (Ryan Bingham) says,

“Maybe he’s still out there doing what he loves. Now, he gets to do it forever.”

However, since John Dutton’s passing and funeral, any other person’s funeral, including Colby's, gets overshadowed by the former’s. This is only natural since John Dutton was the central character of the show.

Colby’s death is nevertheless tragic and during his funeral the pastor says,

“We honor a man who dedicated his life to preserving our way of life. Just as we honor a cowboy who gave his life in service of that land and the livestock that nourishes your body.”

This goes on to show that despite being different people and having different importance in the show, both John and Colby are essentially the same and equal when it comes to the ranch and their love for this ranch life.

What happens to Jamie in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13?

Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13 does not throw much light on Jamie (Wes Bently), who in extreme panic visits his ex-wife. He has a son with her and apparently, he makes this panic visit to her to see his one for one last time.

However, it’s quite clear that he has visited his ex-wife because he does not have anyone else to talk to and he genuinely believes that he was not responsible for his father, John Dutton’s death. This leads to Jamie telling her everything he knows about Sarah Atwood.

Despite Jamie being the attorney in general, Jamie’s ex-wife provides him legal advice and tells him,

“If she did it, then it died with her.”

Jamie is probably comforted a little by these words and he then leaves without even seeing the child he was apparently there for.

What is Kayce’s plan as shown in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13?

With almost everything going wrong with the Duttons in Yellowstone Season 5, Kayce’s plan for the ranch seems to offer a ray of hope at the end of episode 13. At the party, Kayce (Luke Grimes), reveals to Monica (Kelsey Asbille) that he has something in mind that will save the ranch. He tells her,

“I know, in my heart, that it’s going to work. And that it’s the right thing. Not telling anybody, not yet.”

This comes at a point when Rip and Beth are already going to extreme lengths to sell the ranch off. The following morning, Kayce tries to make Beth understand his logic, saying,

If you sold a $300,000 car for one dollar, and then registered it, the sales tax is only based on what the person bought it for—not what it was originally worth.

This clearly impresses Beth as she wonders why she could not think of this plan before. She praises Kayce and it seems that the Duttons will finally be able to save their ranch after all. Kayce however, does not reveal his source in this episode and says that he would need a day for doing that.

With the episode ending with the name of the potential savior of the ranch not being revealed, it can be expected that the final episode will be throwing light on that along with tying up the other loose ends.

Yellowstone can be streamed on Netflix.
