Yellowjackets Season 3 finally premiered with a double episode on February 14, 2025, on Paramount+ Showtime.

The show follows two timelines, one in the past, where a female soccer team gets stranded in the Canadian Wilderness after their plane crashes, and the present timeline, showing who all survived the Wilderness.

Season 3 is highly anticipated as the teens will navigate the aftermath of their cabin burning and the adults will navigate the aftermath of Natalie's accidental death.

Here is the complete soundtrack of the Yellowjackets Season 3 premiere.

Yellowjackets Season 3 soundtrack

Yellowjackets Season 3 premiered with two episodes, titled 'It Girl' and 'Dislocation'. The soundtrack played an important part in the Yellowjackets Season 3 premiere, as big twists and revelations were made. With the past timeline being the main focus, many songs from the 90s were included to create a retro feel.

One of the most shocking scenes from the premiere was Episode 2's finale, where teen Shauna shares a kiss with Melissa while adult Shauna is looking for her stalker. Music played an important role during such scenes.

The songs featured in both the episodes are as follows:

Episode 1-

  • Maxwell Murders by Rancid
  • Morning Has Broken by Cat Stevens
  • I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffany
  • I Will Survive by Cake
  • Glycerine by Bush
  • Cherry Bomb by Runaways

Episode 2-

  • Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai
  • Rebel Girl by Bikini Girl

What happened in the Yellowjackets Season 3 premiere?

Yellowjackets Season 3 had a double premiere, where we learn what the teens and adults are up to, after the events of the Season 2 finale.

In the past timeline, the girls survived the winter by building their huts after their cabin was burned down, and they thought Coach Ben was the one to fire it. With Natalie making the Antler Queen, Shauna is angry and takes her frustration out on Mari.

While Natalie had the others convinced that Coach Ben froze to death in the winter, he is hiding away in the Wilderness in his crutches. He stumbles upon a metal kit with flashlights, meals, and some survival gear, which is like a jackpot.

Later, after a fight with Shauna, Mari gets trapped in the pit laid by Coach Ben and breaks her leg. While Coach Ben nurses her leg, he refuses to let her go because she would out of his hiding place to the others.

He reveals that he did not burn their cabin but is fearful that the others would eat him up like Javi. He takes Mari to his cabin and offers her hot chocolate.

In Yellowjackets Season 3's present timeline, a funeral is held for Natalie when Lottie is absent. It is later revealed that she is being held at a psychiatric facility. After being released from there, she visits Shauna's house and claims that Natalie's death was nobody's fault as the Wilderness wanted her to die.

Somebody is back stalking Shauna as she receives an envelope with stick figure drawings and a phone playing Juice Newton’s “Queen of Hearts”.
