Paramount+'s Yellowjackets Season 3 is finally back with a new season and the trailer suggests to dive in the new season and "This Valentine's Day, eat your heart out." That's right, the survival thriller is releasing on Valentine's Day in February.
The show premiered in 2021 and follows two timelines, one in 1996, where a female soccer team is stranded in the Wilderness after their plane crashes. The other is in the present, 25 years later, where the Wilderness is back to hunt down the survivors, who have re-grouped once again to fight against it.
In addition to the surviving main cast of the show, Yellowjackets Season 3 will also be joined by Hilary Swank, Anisa Harris, Silvana Estifanos, and Joel McHale in new characters.
After the shocking events of Season 2, where Lottie has re-grouped the survivors in a wellness retreat to fight against the Wilderness, which is hunting them down, Season 3's trailer suggests that the new season will be even more brutal and bloodier.

What is the release date and time for Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 1?
Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 1 will be available to stream on Paramount+ with Showtime on February 14, 2025. Since the show will premiere with a double episode, Episodes 1 and 2 will be available to stream on Valentine's Day.
However, since it is only available with an add-on Showtime subscription, it will only be accessible to premium subscribers.
But if you do not have a premium subscription, worry not, as the episodes will also be available on the Paramount+ Showtime TV channel on January 16, 2025, at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST. The rest of the episodes are expected to follow weekly, like the show's previous two seasons.
What can you expect from Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 1?
Creator Ashley Lyle confirmed that Yellowjackets Season 3 will have a small time jump in both timelines, which would be interesting to see in the premiere. We might get some glimpses of what happened during that period, especially in the present timeline, which ended in a tragedy for Natalie.
After Lottie convinces the group that they will have to perform a sacrificial ritual again to please the Wilderness, we see Misty accidentally killing Natalie, which is a huge twist in the Season 2 finale. Season 3 premiere will likely dwell on how the group coped after this tragedy, especially Misty, who has now killed two of her best friends.
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, director and executive producer Karyn Kusama discussed the aftermath of Natalie's deaths that will affect the group in Season 3:
"Certainly loss is going to be an initial kind of emotional glue, and the fallout from that. But I also suspect there’s a lot to explore about the real-world ramifications of the past two seasons. I think that’s going to get further addressed and further looked at. I think it’s going to be a question about how to bring everyone back together when it’s the right thing to do or makes sense narratively."
It seems like Natalie is not only at the center of the narrative in the present timeline, as she became the antler queen in the 90's timeline in the Season 2 finale. This would also be an interesting development for the Season 3 premiere.
