Yellowjackets Season 3 is all set to release on February 16, 2025, featuring 10 episodes on Paramount + Showtime. This gripping psychological thriller will air weekly, and the finale episode is scheduled to be released on April 13, 2025.

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets is a fictional story that deals with the horrific journey of a high school girl's soccer team whose plane crashed into a remote wilderness in 1996. The parallel narrative takes place in 2021 when the survivors of the plane crash try to live their lives struggling with the trauma. The first two seasons were based on how the high school girls took drastic steps like cannibalism to survive the cold in the wilderness while also portraying their present-day trauma as adults 25 years later.

Yellowjacket Season 2 began with Jackie's death and adult Shauna murdering Adam. While Jackie's lifeless body became a slow-cooked meal for the teen high school soccer players, Javi drowned in a frozen lake, leading to his death, and his body was eaten up as well. When the girls started to get hungry in the wild, they resorted to the game of cards to pick who to sacrifice.

Their adult versions also struggled with the trauma. Callie believed her parents were murderers after Shauna came under investigation. The girls reunited at Lotie's wellness center, confronting their chaos, including Misty's role in Jackie's death and Shauna's involvement in Adam's murder.

Let's have a look at the important plot points to remember before the premiere of the new season.

Adult Natalie's death and sacrifice to the Wilderness while Teen Natalie is crowned Antler Queen

In the final moments of Yellowjackets Season 2, Natalie is tragically killed when Misty stabs her with a needle full of poison. This occurs during a tense moment when the group participates in a blood ritual. Natalie's death is framed as a sacrifice to Wilderness, reinforcing the group's beliefs of the Wilderness and its demands of offerings. Natalie's death is a turning point in the group as they are set for more bloodshed.

Even though adult Natalie is dead, teen Natalie is very much alive. She is crowned Antler Queen by the girls in the group, indicating that she will have a prominent role in the upcoming Season 3.

Shauna's trauma and Investigation into Adam's murder

Shauna's psychological state deteriorates after the death of the baby, and she continues to deal with the ongoing investigation of Adam Martin's death. In the present time, Shauna's involvement in Adam's murder becomes an integral part of the plot. The police investigation into his disappearance makes Jeff and Shauna more suspicious.

Shauna's trauma from the wilderness continues to haunt her, especially with Jackie's death. Things become more challenging for her when she stabs Adam to death after she suspected him of blackmail. Turns out it was her husband Jeff who was blackmailing her about their times post-plane crash in Wilderness. Her guilt of murdering Adam, her relationship with Jackie's death, and her grief of the stillborn will be the crucial plot of the upcoming season.

Taissa's struggles and sleepwalking problems

Taissa's mental breakdown and sleepwalking issues continue to be a crucial part of the series. She also experiences a vision where she encounters the occult symbol and trees from her time in the wilderness.

Adult Taissa's struggles also put a strain on her relationship with Simone. With her sleepwalking issues increasing, she resorts to excessive coffee and exercise, which ruins her health. She is also seen struggling in both her personal and professional lives.

Lottie's Commune and Growing Influence on Others

Lottie's leadership of the commune is becoming an essential storyline in the present day. She has gathered followers, including some of the Yellowjacket too. In her wellness center, she believes she can connect to the wilderness and encourage others to participate in the rituals.

However, as the season advances, the group begins to question Lottie, and especially after Natalie's death, there seems to be a rising tension among them. In the upcoming season, we might see Lottie's role as a spiritual leader put to the test.

Police Investigation and Growing Tensions

Throughout the season, the police investigation into Adam's disappearance and the Yellowjackets' involvement became crucial. The investigation leads to uncovering the truth, which puts Shauna, Jeff, and the group members under scrutiny. This investigation leads to the Yellowjackets becoming more desperate to hide the truth. The investigation may lead to major revelations including the characters finally confronting the truth and accepting their wrongdoings.

1996 Highlights: Yellowjacket resorts to Cannibalism, Misty's Manipulation, and Coach Ben becomes terrified

Back in the past timeline, the group's survival reached a point where they resorted to cannibalism to survive the cold and harsh winter. This haunts the present-day versions.

In the 1996 timeline, their desperation for food led to the death of Javi. Apart from this, we also witness Coach Ben, horrified by the group's actions, become increasingly terrified. He even burns down the cabin, which angers the teens, and, most likely, will face the wrath of the teens in Season 3.

Misty continues to use her manipulation skills both in the present timeline as a nurse covering Shauna's murder and in the past to gain influence in the Yellowjackets group by associating more with Lottie.

In the present day, the characters are seen struggling mentally as they have to deal with survivor's guilt, nightmares, and even strained relationships.

These are the main plotlines that would be affecting the storyline of Yellowjackets Season 3.
