Paramount+'s thriller survival drama series Yellowjackets finally wrapped its Season 3, which answered many burning questions about the past timeline.

The season also saw the adult characters getting fewer in number, with Van's tragic death at Melissa's hand. While the characters continue to indulge in questionable practices and sacrifices in the past timeline, their present adventures suggest that they cannot escape the Wilderness completely.

One of the characters who has been violent in both Yellowjackets timelines is Shauna, who also accepted in a note in the Season 3 finale, writing that she felt the most alive while being in the Wilderness.

Shauna's acceptance and Tai and Misty's eventual realization that she is the cause of all their problems in the present hint that the show is heading to Shauna's death in Season 4.

More on why Shauna could die in Yellowjackets Season 4 in our story.

Shauna's need for violence might result in her death in Yellowjackets

While only a few, we do see adult versions of characters who survived the Wilderness, and Shauna is one of them. However, even after surviving the Wilderness, the time they spent there and the inhuman activities and crimes the group committed changed them forever, more so in Shauna than others.

Even in the adult timeline, Shauna is convinced that the Wilderness is still after them, and her obsession even led the group to follow her on violent pursuits. Firstly, she became obsessed with the anonymous tape left for her, and then her pursuit of Melissa resulted in the tragic death of Van.

In the Season 3 finale, Tai and Misty realize that even after escaping the Wilderness, they could not escape its clutches because of Shauna, who continued to bring violence into their lives.

During the group's run-in with Melissa, Shauna violently attacks Melissa and even forces her to eat her own flesh, mimicking the cannibalism they practiced back in the Wilderness. This hints at how Shauna was completely changed after the Wilderness, and even while she was rescued with the others, she still craved their carefree lifestyle, which might have led to her eventual death.

The Yellowjackets Season 3 finale hints that Tai and Misty might murder Shauna in Season 4

Many fan theories suggest that Yellowjackets will end with all the characters dying in the present timeline, which is proving to take form since very few adult versions are still alive at the end of Season 3.

After discovering Shauna's writing on the wall, Tai and Misty realise that she is innately violent and brought about the tragic deaths of Van and Natalie. Since Misty and Tai are the only major characters alive other than Shauna, they naturally feel threatened by her.

Since everybody is dropping dead like flies around Shauna in the present timeline of Yellowjackets, Misty and Tai feel they might be next, and the diner scene in the Season 3 finale suggests that they might kill Shauna before she harms them.

Tai says this to Misty:

“If we keep letting this slide, she’s going to end up being the last one standing,”

Since Tai is also motivated by Van's tragic death, it might lead her to kill Shauna in Season 4, giving the show a harrowing twist and a new perspective on its future.
