Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finale has an unresolved mystery about Jude Law's character, Jod Na Nawood. Interestingly an actor who was cut from the final cut of the episode has come forward with some thrilling bts photos.
On Instagram, Yasmine Al Massri revealed that she played the Jedi who taught Jod Na Nawood. Even though the flashback scene did not make it to the edited series, she held no grudges.
The Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew raised a lot of doubts about Law Jod's character, Jod Na Nawood. People were left stunned by the powers and techniques he possessed. Many thought he might have been a former Jedi.
The finale made it clear that he was found by a Jedi (Yasmine Al Massri's character) who took him under his guidance and trained him. However, his Jedi trainer was hunted down but survived during Order 66 when thousands of Jedis across the galaxy were betrayed and murdered.
What did Yasmine Al Massri reveal in her Instagram post about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew?
In an Instagram post, Yasmine Al Massri revealed some twenty behind-the-scenes pictures and videos of her role in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The photos and videos show her dedication to the character and the role. Yasmine was cast by the makers to play the role of Jedi, the one who trained Jod Na Nawood.
In the Instagram post, she wrote:
" This was the shortest acting job I have done but the most meaningful to the child in me...playing a Jedi for one scene in Skeleton Crew. I gave a speech when the crew wrapped me on the set saying: you just created the first Arab female Jedi..thank you.."
Yasmine Al Massri seemed quite happy with her performance in the television series. However, in the next few lines, she showed her disappointment as her role was cut from the final scenes. She wrote:
"The scene, unfortunately, didn't make it to the final cut bc these things happen...but I can not share my experience and feelings..even Liam rehearsed that scene with me and I got to brag about it with his friends which got me the coolest mom respect for a moment."
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew makers, Christopher Ford, and Jon Watts, explained why they omitted Jod's training sequence in the final cut. Ford said:
"The challenge though as fascinating as Jod is, we always wanted to keep it from the kids's perspectives. The kids are like, 'I don't understand this guy. They've never been out in the galaxy and met someone as damaged as him. So I don't think we could have done a flashback in this season"
The showrunner duo also stated that they want to experiment more with Jod's character in future seasons. This might be one of the reasons that Yasmine's part as a Jedi who taught Jod was eliminated from the series.
