XO, Kitty: Did star Anna Cathcart just confirm Season 3? New updates, explored 

Netflix recently uploaded a warm video of XO, Kitty star, Anna Cathcart, who reads from a card inside a bouquet:

“Roses are red, violets are blue, there’s a third season of XO, Kitty in store for you”.

This is how the actor confirms the surprising update on the third season of XO, Kitty. Anna seems excited by the news, flaunting the script of the new season in the video.

The spin-off to the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise follows Kitty Song Covey, Anna Cathcart’s character (the quirky and confident younger sister of Lara Jean) as she embarks on her journey of love where she gets self-discovery and cultural exploration as well.

The first two seasons focused on Kitty’s journey at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) which she joins to get back with her distant love interest, Dae, in South Korea. Eventually, she finds it difficult to navigate through her feelings for Dae as Yuri and Min-ho appear at the scene.

Anna Cathcart confirms Season 3 of XO Kitty

Season 2 of XO, Kitty aired on January 16, 2025, and soon after, the show was renewed for a third chapter. XO, Kitty showrunner, Jessica O’Toole, added to the news expressing her excitement saying that the audience will have to wait for the cliffhanger conclusion of Season 2 to get resolved in the upcoming season. As per Deadline, O’Toole reportedly mentioned in a statement:

“I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama…just wait.”

She further added:

“I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure…and kissing. Lots of kissing.”

At the end of XO, Kitty Season 2, we see Kitty adventuring on a spontaneous summer tour with Min-ho and his family members. Min-ho is still reeling from his complicated relationship with Stella.

However, after an emotional farewell hug, Kitty impulsively asks if she can come along, to which Min-Ho nods in agreement and the two then set off. The exchange of smiles between them leaves the season on a cliffhanger with fans speculating on what lies ahead for the duo.

What to expect in XO, Kitty Season 3?

All this while, we see Kitty at a crossroads with her feelings for Yuri and Min-Ho. Finally, at the end of Season 2, we see her take a step forward to validate how she feels and asks Min-Ho if she can tag along on his summer tour. Season 3 of XO, Kitty will supposedly be a blend of evolving relationships and emotional growth for Kitty as the daily challenges of high school are cast at her.

In Season 2, Yuri's gestures for Kitty were quite noteworthy. Despite being in a relationship with Juliana, Kitty and Yuri share a kiss. On the other hand, Yuri’s family is also under a major financial burden owing to a lawsuit.

The kiss suggests unresolved feelings after which Yuri cuts off ties with Juliana but it is still uncertain what she wants. This conflict might take center stage in Season 3. Yuri might be eventually confessing her feelings to Kitty, while Kitty seems to be falling more for Min-Ho.

In an interview with The Wrap before the confirmation of Season 3, Anna Cathcart mentioned that she wants Kitty to follow "her heart". Her exact words were:

“I’m just so excited to continue her story. I think she has so much growing to do always, and it’s so fun to watch. I think this is a very cheesy answer, but I hope Kitty always follows her heart and I know that she will because that’s something she’s almost too good at doing; she can’t help herself but follow her heart and go wherever that leads her.”
