The plot of Wolf Hall: The Mirror and The Light
The show is based on Hilary Mantel's novel trilogy. The first season adapted the first two books: Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies. The second and final season will cover the third book of the trilogy: The Mirror & the Light.
The season revolves around Thomas Cromwell as he faces new challenges at the Tudor court, shortly after the execution of Anne Boleyn in 1536. Meanwhile, King Henry VIII is ready to marry his third wife following the death of Anne. The official synopsis for the season, on the PBS website, reads:
“The new TV sequel picks up after Boleyn’s beheading and follows the last four years of Cromwell’s life, completing his journey from self-made man to the most feared and influential figure of his time.”
