Spider-Man fans have been buzzing with Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the animated series that retells Peter Parker's origin differently. In contrast to other adaptations, this one has an unanticipated twist—Norman Osborn, not Tony Stark, as Peter's mentor. However, what does this lead to? A thrilling reimagining of Spider-Man's origin.

But the million-dollar question is: Will there be a Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2? The answer is an emphatic yes! Marvel Studios was so assured of the project that it commissioned a second and third season even before the first season was out. With production already in process, here's all we know of the next installment in Peter Parker's escapades.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2: Coming soon

Early renewal

It doesn't happen every day that a show is renewed for several seasons prior to airing its first episode, but just that happened with Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Marvel Studios' Streaming, Television, and Animation Head Brad Winderbaum has already assured that season 2 is well in production.

The script process is over, and half of the animatics (early animation sequences) are done. While this is excellent news for viewers, animation takes time, so the next one won't be coming on screens anytime soon.

When will Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 release?

Anticipated release window

If Marvel continues with its present timeline, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 should be released in early 2026. Season 1 was released in January 2025. While fans are excited about the possibility of season 2 releasing, it is important to consider that animation takes a lot of post-production, especially if Marvel continues with the same high-quality animation and storytelling that made season 1 outstanding.

Possible delays in season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man?

Although there are speculations that season 2 will be released in 2026, there might be unforeseen production challenges that would set it back. Animation series tend to be delayed because of the detailed work needed to flesh out characters, so an early or middle 2026 release looks the most likely.

What to look out for in season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Season 1 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man laid down the groundwork for an original retelling of Peter Parker's story. Season 2 might build from those in engaging ways. Following are some of the largest questions and plot points that will stand a good chance of affecting next season.

Richard Parker's mysterious cameo

The biggest surprise of season 1 finale arrived in the form of an unexpected return of Peter's father, Richard Parker. In most Spider-Man interpretations, very little room is given to Richard Parker, so this is a surprising twist.

His return is so full of questions: Is he indeed alive? What is he concealing? What will his return mean for Peter's life? Season 2 will probably get deeper into these matters.

Peter Parker & Norman Osborn

Unlike previous shows with Peter's mentor being Tony Stark, the current show features Norman Osborn as the mentor. This single alteration is what makes the show unique but also puts one in a dilemma over where Norman's mentorship would take him.

Is Norman really helping Peter become a better hero, or does he have a motive? Fans of the comics are well aware that Osborn isn't precisely famous for being a reliable or sane individual, and his mentorship might lead Peter astray.

Building the Spider-Man Universe

Season 1 brought a few of the most iconic Spider-Man characters to the table, but there is definitely room for more.

Similarly, will we get the introduction of classic characters such as:

Eddie Brock (Venom)

Peter's initial experiences with reporting could lay the groundwork for Brock's arrival.

Felicia Hardy (Black Cat)

As an adolescent,t Felicia could get her introduction as a classmate or early friend.

Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus)

With Norman Osborn on board, we could potentially see a younger Otto before he became Doc Ock.

Marvel has a huge Spider-Man universe to draw from, and season 2 could bring even more familiar faces.

Cast: Who's coming back for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man?

Hudson Thames as Peter Parker

Hudson Thames, who originally voiced Spider-Man in What If.?, brings a youthful but determined flair to Peter Parker. He is set to come back for Season 2, reprising his role as the teenage superhero.

Supporting cast

In addition to Thames, several other voice actors are set to return, including:

Hugh Dancy as Norman Osborn, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May, and Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn

With season 2 planned to elaborate on the storyline, we can also expect to see new additions to the cast, although no details have yet been announced by Marvel.

When can we have a trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man?

Since animations take time, a trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 likely won't any time soon. Marvel releases teasers a few months before the release of a show, so a first glimpse in the second half of 2025 wouldn't be unexpected.

Will there be a season 3 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man?

Yes! Marvel Studios had already ordered a third season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man even before the first season premiered. This indicates that even after Season 2, Peter Parker's story will go on. The early renewals indicate that Marvel has a long-term plan for this iteration of Spider-Man, which is great news for fans.

With season 2 in the works, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will keep challenging Peter Parker's teenage years in new and shocking ways. Although fans won't have to wait much more than 2026 for the next season, the guarantee of further surprises, character development, and Marvel's tried-and-true storytelling make the wait well worth it.

For now, fans can watch season 1 on Disney+ and wait for updates as production goes on. The Spider-Man series is far from over, and season 2 will be another exciting installment in Peter Parker's life!
