Will accidentally shot an innocent young boy in Will Trent Season 3 Episode 11

The opening scenes of Episode 11 showed how Will’s hands were covered in blood as he was looking down at them horrifically. After he cleaned himself, it was shown that Captain Heller asked him to hand over his service gun, hinting at a serious incident that led to his suspension.

The story then goes back two hours, showing Will and Faith chasing someone called Paco at the request of the Alabama State Police. After some initial confusion, they correctly identify him and decide to split up while chasing the man to nab him quickly.

All of this chasing was taking place inside a residential building and when Will saw Paco take cover, he thought that Paco had done so to pull out his gun and attack Will. This led Will to take cover himself and just then he heard the sound of a loud bang, which made him believe that Paco had started to shoot.

Will aimed and shot twice at Paco and while one bullet did hit the right target, it becomes evident after a while that Will had also accidentally shot a young boy, Marco, who was also in the building when the shooting took place.

This incident shakes Will to his core. As he and Faith realize that the ambulance will take time to arrive and Marco’s condition is rather critical, they decide to rush him to the hospital themselves. This decision ultimately did not help them as despite reaching the hospital, the young boy took his last breath in Will’s arms.

Angie helps Will to deal with the trauma of the whole situation in Will Trent Season 3 Episode 11

Will naturally lands in legal trouble because of his actions, making it important to prove that Paco would have fired if he hadn't shot first. However, the initial inspection of the crime scene did not help because no guns or weapons were found there, which could prove that Paco was in a position to attack Will.

Despite the initial failure, APD officers keep searching, which leads them to a video showing a man, whose identity remains unclear, carrying something away from the crime scene. Following this lead, a handgun and some drugs are found, proving Paco’s association with crime and gang members but not necessarily proving that he was about to shoot Will.

Finally, an eyewitness, Ruth, comes to the rescue. While she was uncooperative due to a previous bad experience with law enforcement, Angie persuades her to help them. It is because of her SD card that contained the footage of the entire incident. Will is cleared of all the charges, and his legal troubles come to an end.

However, Will finds himself unable to come to terms with his actions as he realizes that he opened fire at Paco and even more people could have been hurt. As Will’s friends and even Marion, his lover, fail to comfort him, Angie—whom he has known since childhood and spent a significant part of his adult life—comes to help.

Because of their similar experience of killing someone without intending for the same, Will finds some comfort in Angie’s hug and while this might not necessarily mean a romantic reunion of the two, it certainly highlights the depth of the friendship that Will and Angie share.
