What happened in Will Trent Season 3 Episode 9?
The last-aired epsiode of Will Trent was titled This Kid's Gonna Be Alright. Ninth of season, the episode featured not one but two cases, led by teams of Will Trent and Faith Mitchell at the GBI, and Angie Polaski and Michael Ormewood at the Atlanta Police Department (APD), respectively.
Will and Faith's case started with the latter's son Jeremy, telling her about selling one of his rap beats to a record label on hearing about the murder of H. Beltline, his favorite rapper.
When Will and Faith arrived on the scene at a festival, they discovered that Beltline had been murdered with a glass bottle, and his partner, New Milli, barely survived stabbing wounds.
After multiple dead ends, they established a connection between the artists and a potential drug dealer. After investigation, Faith suspects New Milli, Beltline's partner, of murdering him. She concluded that he stabbed his partner with a glass bottle and then wounded himself to avert suspicion.
New Milli finally confessed to Beltline's murder by saying that he did not like Beltline's new approach to their music.
On the other hand, Angie and Michael were called to investigate the death of Lilith, who enjoyed erotic asphyxiation. After talking to the deceased's boyfriend, Albert, it became clear that Albert was trying to demonstrate how to apply pressure to her neck to other guests when she choked and died.
However, a toxicology report later revealed that Lillith's windpipe was intact, and a rare drug was found in her system, which could cause respiratory arrest when mixed with alcohol.
Concluding that as the cause of death, Michael and Angie let Albert free.
