The second season of The Recruit picks up right where the first season ended. Fans were asking one question in particular. "Was Max dead?" After two and half years of theorizing, the first episode confirms Max's (Laura Haddock) fate from the season 1 finale. Turns out, she succumbed to her gunshot wound. Max isn't mentioned anywhere else in the second season.

In this season of The Recruit, lawyer/agent Owen Hendricks is pulled into a challenging and life-threatening espionage mission in South Korea. However, during the course of the mission, Owen realizes that there might be a mole inside the CIA, who might be a bigger threat than his opponents. The synopsis for this season reads:

"A new graymail case sends Owen to Seoul, where a spy threatens to leak U.S. secrets unless the CIA assists him on a dangerous personal mission."

Based on how the second season ended, the makers do intend to return to this universe, but for now, the status of The Recruit Season 3 remains unconfirmed.
