The highly anticipated The Dragon Prince Season 7 just dropped on Netflix, concluding the second phase of this animated series, Mystery of Aavaros.

Debuting in 2018, the show has gained popularity from viewers and critics alike and was ordered for seven seasons, as planned by co-creators Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond in 2020.

The story follows royal half-brothers Ezran and Callum, along with their friends and allies, as they adventure through the continent of Xadia, navigating the realm between humans and magical elves.

As announced before, The Dragon Prince was supposed to be a seven-season project, and the series ended with the latest season.

While there is no confirmation and hopes for Season 8, makers have hinted at a possible third arc, which could make for a spin-off series or Seasons 8-10 of the show. But since nothing is confirmed now, Season 7 is officially the last season for the show.

Season 7 concluded the second arc for The Dragon Prince. Exploring possibilities for a spin-off series

In 2020, fans were elated to hear that Netflix had greenlit the proposed plans by co-creators Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond for the seventh Season of the show.

After concluding the show's first arc with Season 3, creators had plenty of seasons to flesh out the Mystery of Aaravos, and fans were excited to see how it would wrap up in Season 7.

Now, with Season 7 out on Netflix, while the series has concluded the second arc and Aaravos has been given a death, albeit temporarily in the finale, it feels far from a conclusion to the show.

However, considering Netflix's contract for seven seasons of the show, Season 8 seems a bit difficult at the moment, but we might get a third arc for the show, maybe as a spin-off series.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Aaron said in an interview,

"The saga has a very specific endpoint at [season] 7. But also, we have a big story in our brains."

Again, at the San Diego Comic-Con, the creator duo also teased that they do have a story for a third arc for the show, which might flesh out as The Dragon Prince Seasons 8-10, but that was just an idea and has a long way to come to fruition.

All this depends on the enthusiasm and excitement around the show's new episodes, as their popularity will seal their future.

How did The Dragon Prince Season 7 end?

After being freed by Claudia from his prison, Aavaros was hellbent on avenging his daughter's death from the people of Xadia by unleashing the spirits of people from the in-between realm and plunging the city into darkness.

He also orders Claudia to kill Tina and summons the spirit of Avizandum to destroy the Archdragons. But he suddenly gains consciousness and takes Aavaros to the Eclipse and bites him, causing his temporary death and sending him back to heaven for seven years.

But as prophecized by the Celestial Elves, the temporary death of the fallen star causes the death of all the Archdragons.

After this, Ezran builds the city of Evrkynd, where the elves and the humans will live in harmony and prepare for war against Aavaros when he returns after seven years.
